Day 04: Hogwarts AU (there’s more of the story on my Twitter! @nanartist707)

Lance was sitting alone at the party.

Pidge and hunk living him to grab some food, when suddenly someone sits beside him.

"You know, I always thought of dating a Hufflepuff. Do you want to date a Gryffindor?"

Oh my god. Who in the world would talk to him?? Lance was in his fifth year at Hogwarts, a transfer student from Ilvermorny, a rare thing to happen. A Hufflepuff. Now Lance liked his house, it was perfect for him. Even more because it wasn't a house that liked attention from others. Lance was a nerd, he liked to study about the different animals that existed (he was a huge fan of Newt Scammander.), No one would talk to him, well if you don't count Hunk from his house, and Pidge, a Ravenclaw.

So he finally looked at the direction of the voice. And froze. There he was, in all his glory, Takashi Shirogane. Last year. Gryffindor. The chosen Hogwarts champion, by the goblet of fire for the Triwizard Tournament. It was high time he spoke something, but nothing came out of him. He just blushed.

"Oh, I knew red would look good on you." Shiro grinned when he saw Lance blushing, which only made him blush even more.

"W-what?" Lance looked the other side. "Don't know what you're talking about."

Shiro chuckled. "So he speaks. But didn't answer my question. Is Lance, right?" Shiro inclined his head 'cute' was the first thing in Lance's head.

"How do you know my name?"

"I have my ways. Your answer?"

Lance bit inside his lip. 'Do you want to date a Gryffindor?' Lance didn't even think about that kinda of thing. He just wanted to finish his studies and go back home. Maybe travel the world or something. He never really thought he would date someone.

"I don't know. Never thought about it." Lance looked at his hands, on his lap. Feeling different things at the same time. First, he was nervous, Hunk and Pidge would talk about him all the time. He was an amazing wizard. Head boy of Gryffindor. Very good at defences against the dark arts, potions, etc. Anyway, he was good at everything. Then he felt a bit uncomfortable, because, why would someone like Shiro, flirt with someone like him?

Shiro seemed to notice that he was uncomfortable, cause he backed away right away. "Hey, sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

Oh heavens. He is a gentleman on top of everything!

"no no, it's just... You're you. Why would you want... Someone like me...?"

Shiro relaxed a bit. Resting a hand on top of Lance's.

"I saw you before. And you picked my interest."

Shiro smiled. "How about a date? Just one. To test the waters?"

Lance thought about it for a few seconds, when he saw Hunk and Pidge looking at him from the other way of the hall. Nodding madly, Pidge wrote with her wand 'Say yes you stupid Hufflepuff!'

Lance chuckled. "Yeah. Ok... Let's see how a Gryffindor date looks like." And he could feel his heart melting. Shiro just used his smile to cast a spell on Lance.

A love spell.

And apparently worked instantly.

S8 Thoughts

I’ve been reading a lot of posts about a lot of unhappy people who watched the season, and didn’t like how certain things went. (I’m trying really hard not to spoil things, but it is tumblr and things are everywhere) 

But one thing someone pointed out, that at Shiro’s wedding, behind Shiro and Curtis, when Curtis yanks Shiro closer, we see what I think is Keith standing behind Shiro with his arms crossed.  Everyone assumes he’s all pissed because Shiro’s getting married to someone other than him. He’s all bitter because Shiro, the one who he fell and almost died for is marrying someone from the Atlas crew.  Honestly, in all honesty, I feel like Keith wouldn’t be bitter, he saw Shiro as a brotherly figure, not a lover. His arms might be crossed, but my thought, he’s stuck in some stiff suit or clothes he wouldn’t ever wear, and wouldn’t be comfortable in.  All in all, I think Keith is just hella uncomfortable being there, because he’s prolly in a suit that he wont ever wear again. Also, weddings, no matter who’s it is, are uncomfortable as all hell- wearing clothes you probably wont ever look at again that are stiff and uncomfortable, (This might also be my dislike of huge gatherings showing through)  ANYWAY, I know a lot of shippers are all up in arms about it because it should be Keef or even it should be Adam because reasons x, y and z. It would have been nice if Shiro had the chance to have some closure with Adam (and not just his plaque) and be able to move on with a clear head. I mean, he was still able to move on, which I’m so proud of him for. This man has been through hell, and he has the scars to prove it. How long has he been in space? How long was he with the Galra again? Where they took his friggin arm? Being isolated as a prisoner, and being used for gladiatorial fights will change a man. (Not that I know what it’s like being in a gladiator situation, but I imagine with how long he was there and with all they did to him it was going to be a life changing experience.)

The fact that Shiro managed to find love in someone like Curtis, and be able to get married, and move on with his life, instead of dwelling on the bad, and feeling sorry for himself, I cant hide my pride for him. He gave himself the chance to find love again, and go to live a probably quieter life, away from the conflict that had torn at him for years. Dreams change, wants change, people change. 

I love this show, I love the characters, the music, the giant robot(s), and all it did. If I didn’t give this show a watch, I wouldn’t have drawn a lot of what I did in October, or before, and I would probably be a much unhappier person.

I know I’ve said this in posts in the past, but I love what the whole Voltron team did to bring this together. To JDS, LM, and all of the other producers, thank you for making such a great show with some of my favorite animation I’ve seen in awhile.

(just kidding i just realized that with this show over, it’ll be harder to see the other cast/crew members at conventions in my area T^T)
