Shellsea: What's the point of not saying what I'm thinking? Aries: Well, um, because it can come across as rude? Shellsea: Ugh. People are so stupid. Wait! No! I didn't mean you. Ugh, wait. I mean my kind loves flattering each other and saying what we think the other person wants to hear because we want them to give us the reaction we're looking for. And, well, isn't that so stupid? They're all being so nice to each other, but underneath it all they're all being so fake, hoping to build a mirror to reflect their own image. They'll try to say the nicest things to me, but they don't mean any of it. They just want me to coo over them in turn, and then they'll go and talk about how they can't stand me when I'm not there. It's no secret that I'm hated in my community. Everyone will be so polite to me. Yet every word is a thinly veiled insult they think I'm not smart enough to understand. Because they want to make me a joke. They want me around to flatter them. They want to learn more about me so they have new ways to mock me. I don't want to be a part of that. If I admire someone, they'll know it's genuine. If I dislike someone, they don't have wonder where they stand with me. If I want something, I'll make that known. But being nice for niceness' sake? I can't stand that.
