What, if any, differences would there be for a Homestuck "Con" to a homestuck meet~? Not saying that it's pointless, I just genuinely don't understand what the appeal of a convention for one webcomic would be. I'm actually a huge fan of homestuck myself, so if you could explain it to me, if it appeals to me I may come along xx

A convention is somewhat bigger then a simple meet up, taking place over multiple days and with a set list of activities in which everyone can take place. Things that need a bit more organising then a simple meet up. There'll also be the opportunity for people to sell things (Related: Are you interested in running a store and selling prints, pins, etc? Send us a message.) and it' all generally of a larger scale, and more specialised.Unfortunately entree won't be free, as hiring out the Venue is going to be expensive and It's not something we can shoulder ourselves. However, the more people attending the cheaper the tickets will be. This is part of the reason it's so important to find out how many people are likely to be there. This is another of the differences between a convention and a meet. You don't have to pay to go to a Meet, unless I'm mistaken.If we can get enough people attending, and thus, the funds needed for a plane ticket, We also have a Special Guest arranged to attend. Who knows, maybe we could get more then one?Plus calling it a convention makes us feel so much more awesome, just saying.

Important Venue Info

Attempts to find a Venue via a venue-findy-ma-bobsit have screeched to a halt, as apparently the venue finder we contacted won't be able to help us unless we know how many people will be attending. As of right now? We have absolutely no idea, brah. So at this point, we're looking to get some rough estimate of how many people are interested in attending. So if you're interested, let us know. weather it's a watch or a quick "I'm in" popped into the ask box, just so we can get a rough idea. Please do bear in mind that this whole thing is still surrounded by huge "Ifs "Buts" and "Maybes," so don't go booking hotel rooms just yet, however we are all eager to make this a thing that is real. In the meantime, there is one location that we know for a fact plays host to this sort of event, so we're going to ask if it's twin down in Bristol has the same facilities. If all else fails we simply might have to switch cities, which isn't too big of a deal since it's still early days of planning. (We're, what? Three days into this thing? If that?) No rush.

Yes, guys, we are well aware of how much work this is going to take.

This is why we have so many people working on different aspects of this thing. Also bearing in mind we only started properly planning a few days ago. Hence the lack of Venue. We can understand that you might not want to dedicate yourself too much to the idea just yet, but don't dismiss us so quickly. Most conventions start of small, but they can grow. With hard work and support, you just might be surprised. where doing this where making this happen
