China to launch its Shenzhou 12 manned spaceship at 9:22 am BJT on Thursday from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, with three astronauts, namely Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming (R) and Tang Hongbo (L). Nie will be the commander.

A few hours ago, the three Chinese taikonauts of the Shenzhou 12 mission returned to Earth after spending about three months on the Chinese space station's Tianhe core module. Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming, and Tang Hongbo had left Tianhe about a day earlier to land at a site called Dongfeng in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It was the longest Chinese space mission completed so far but the next missions to the Chinese space station are expected to last six months.

Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming e Tang Hongbo avevano lasciato Tianhe circa un giorno prima per atterrare in un sito chiamato Dongfeng nella regione autonoma cinese della Mongolia Interna. È arrivata la conferma che tre taikonauti cinesi della missione Shenzhou 12 hanno raggiunto il modulo centrale Tianhe della stazione spaziale cinese con una manovra di attracco automatizzata. Erano partiti circa sei ore e mezza prima su un razzo vettore Long March-2F dal Centro di lancio satelliti di Jiuquan. Costituiscono il primo equipaggio della stazione spaziale cinese. Si tratta della missione con la durata più lunga nella storia del programma spaziale cinese ma è solo la prima, dato che è prevista una rotazione dell'equipaggio ogni tre mesi circa.
