Sawthis and immediat3ly thought of them
Marek writes fanfics of getting adopted by/sold to the monkey king as a kid and Morshid stumbles across one of them and gets like genuinely really sad and upset . He doesn't mention this at ALL but he does try to subtly one-up whatever monkey king's doing in the fanfics. Kid Marek notices how Morshid's actions correspond w her diary entries and starts writing shit like "anfthen the monkey king got me a PS5, when what i ACTUALLY wanted was a Nintendo switch, but it's ok becaus he's my dad and I ♡ him "
@honeysgalaxy these tags made us giggle sm she WOULD .
Marek prints out emo song lyrics and claims they're poems made by an obscure poet who's name remains unknown and Morshid is genuinely very impressed and delighted . Regularly reads them out as if they're actual poems and says this guy is his favorite . Marek thought he'd know she was bluffing immediately and isn't sure how to break it to him
Marek naming Morshid means so much to me actually oh my god . You look at this child and she asks you for your name . You tell him you don't have one, haven't had one for years . She gives you a name . She calls you Morshid, one who guides. He is young and hopeful and bright and he tells you it's because you guide him, to safety, to the right path. You look at your child and you know you will let her down, you know you will snuff her out, you know you don't deserve things like Marek, things that shine with love. You know this, and all those who came before her knew this too, but just this once you let him grace you with this unfamiliar kindness. You let him call you Morshid, a guide, when most days you feel as though you're doing anything but that . You think sometimes she feels the same way too
Marek [referring to Mei] : I started seeing someone . Just .... thought you should know
Morshid, who has fundamentally misunderstood what Marek is trying to say: oh. well, it runs in the family, so I suppose it was just a matter of time
this is for the oc hc ask game !!!
this is so random but Marek and Morshid celebrating for the new years and they have their own little traditions that they HAVE to follow each year.
whether that be making food or hanging decorations and watching fireworks together. if one of them doesn’t like loud noises, the other will cover their ears and just… sit next to each other in silence and that is their way of comforting eachother . :3

THISIS SO CANON HELLO . I made a post about them doing each other's henna for eid but they'd do it for new years too ...... they'd make konafa together and fail miserably . It comes out crunchy and sour somehow but they still finish the pan . Methinks Marek would put on old arabic movies to make Morshid feel more at home ..... this is gonna make sense to no one but specifically the movie 3asal eswed. Morshid asks Marek to lead morning prayer on new years . Marek sets up a fanoos even though its not ramadan because they don't have any other decorations lmao . AARRGHDHHDDB they're so dear to me
Wheres tbat one quote about how growing up losing your faith in your father feels a lot like losing faith in your religion . That is marek and morshid
