So I've been thinking about some ancestry-related stuff and as much as I love to joke about that one "Sherlock Holmes II" line and say Ryuunosuke made sweet, passionate love with Sherlock and all that, I actually kinda feel like the chances of Sherlock being related to anyone (at least directly descended anyway) is rather low for some reason. I'm not really sure why, but I just can't really picture anyone in the present timeline being Sherlock's descendant (YES, EVEN THE GAVINS).
Now, Kazuma Asougi on the other hand...while I am a bit worried that he's gonna end up like Kristoph or Mia, I think he could be a potential Edgeworth ancestor, even if it's...mostly due to his face reminding me of Edgeworth's, although that could also just be from Kazuya Nuri's art style BUT ANYWAY ABOUT KAZUMA BEING THE EDGEWORTH ANCESTOR...
Of course, Kazuma doesn't have "Mitsurugi" as his surname, and he may be the ancestor of someone else or no one at all. But I can sort of imagine maybe there's a family with the Mitsurugi name and Kazuma possibly somehow marrying into said family, or Kazuma eventually having a daughter who marries a man with the Mitsurugi name, or some other thing that would make sense. And if we're going down the Japanifornia present route then I suppose somewhere along the timeline the Mitsurugi family eventually became the Edgeworth family somehow, I'm still thinking about that, shhhh...
Speaking of which, regarding the Naruhodous/Wrights, I was actually thinking about Ryuunosuke meeting (and eventually marrying) someone with the "Wright" surname while in England. In Gyakuten Saiban present time, the Naruhodous will keep that surname, and in Ace Attorney's present time, I suppose they became the Wrights after Ryuunosuke marries whoever (on that note, it would be amusing to me if this hypothetical "Wright" woman was actually the rival prosecutor for DGS or something, but it'd be fine if she wasn't).
There's some other stuff I should probably think about with this, but I'm just gonna stop here for now.
