1. What is one book you think everyone should read?
I think everyone should read the book House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Also, Middlemarch by George Eliot. They are super different obviously but they are both two of my favorite. But particularly House of Leaves, because I want more people to talk about it with!
2. In an Alternate Universe what sort of thing do you wish you could do even if it is outside your normal character?
I would love to be more artistic. I would love to be a dancer or a painter or a musician, but I don't have the training. I would love to live in an alternate universe where I've been trained to do something awesome.
3. What piece of advice have you found the most helpful in your life?
I don't really have any kind of special quote or anything that is particularly moving. But my favorite thing that someone told me once is not to leave anything for later. If you want to do something, do it NOW. Putting things off is how you end up with a life of regrets and what-ifs.
4. What is a goal that you are working towards (short term or long term)?
My goal is to get into a PhD program for international economics. I'm really scared because it's putting myself out there to be judged a little bit, but see advice above.
5. What never fails to make you smile?
Pugs. Pugs always make me smile. Also, my brother. He's hilarious and my best friend in the world.
6. Do you have a fandom that’s a guilty pleasure or one you didn’t expect to find yourself in?
I'm kind of a snob and I'm all about serious BBC dramas and stuff, but I'm also obsessed with the show The Tudors. I know it's not accurate. But that shit is hot as hell, you guys. Watch it! But alone. Preferably with a glass of wine.
7. What’s a fanfic concept you are dying for someone to write?
I want to see more awesome Mary. She's such a cool character but every fic seems to act like she doesn't exist. I'm all about JohnLock but Mary is awesome!!
8. What is the weirdest dream you can remember having?
There's this one dream I had when I was little and I still remember it vividly (I don't have very many dreams I remember). I met a boy, and when you stepped on his left foot, mustard came out of his mouth, and when you stepped on his right food, ketchup came out. That was it. That was the dream.
9. Have you made something you’re proud of? What?
I write a lot of poetry, and most of it is terrible, but because of the sheer volume of it, the balance of probability says I've probably written a couple pretty good poems. And I have. There are a few I'm polishing up and maybe I'll send them somewhere.
10. What was the last thing that really moved you?
I've played Bioshock Infinite like 5 times through by now, but my brother and I finished it again last night and it always gets to me. I always feel like the Songbird and Elizabeth have this weird abusive romantic relationship, and the conclusion of that is really moving to me.
