The #21daysinmyartworld challenge in on the 16th day and the prompt for today’s post is ,”How small was the smallest painting you ever made?” I was teaching an art class to some children and we were painting sunflowers, so on a whim I painted some on two tiny little canvases. I usually work big! This is the 3rd day of the #21daysinmyartworld challenge. Today the prompt is 'latest WIP', which for those who haven't heard that acronym before means 'work in progress'. Here you see just the beginning of laying down colors. Some paintings start with an idea and plan, but most times (my favorite) I just start with a small choice of colors and I put it to canvas. I may brush it on, dribble it, or smear it ! I will generally use several colors. Then I place it on my easel and watch it or stare at it and sometimes I just ignore it for a bit until it starts telling me what it wants. Sometimes a face appears, sometimes an emotion. Then other times it’s an outside influence that gets me started on what it will become. This crazy process is pure joy for me!
