It had liquor in it. Of course it had liquor in it. Everything Seven makes has liquor in it. He wonders, then, why he didn't taste the rum in the sweets; why he didn't feel the sudden daze and the bitter sting in his tongue after he'd eaten a little more than two and a half plates full. Leave it to One to get drunk off of chocolates of all things, Jiminy Cricket.
Even so in this unwarranted and unprecedented stupor, he finds himself oddly affectionate -- that is to say twice as affectionate as he usually allows himself to be. So when he encounters Sherry while he's walking back home from the store, equally as drunk best friend pulling along, he makes him grind to a halt so he can hug her, fix her already straight jacket, cup her face between both hands and give her a poorly aimed kiss on her brow. Like it's nothing, like it's normal being so casually and freely affectionate with the young lady.
Before he can think about it, he's off again and is calling an all too loud "'Ve a goo'night, Cherry!" over his shoulder, pleased to know his musically gifted friend is still holding up alright.
