it had been ten years since he first laid eyes on her, almost seven years since they broke up and seven years since he's even spoken to her. he's done a good job at staying far from her, allowing her to move on with her life, burning the bridge completely and acting as though they never happened. even though as her music blared through his car speakers, he was ninety-nine percent certain that every angry lyric was about him. he never thought he'd find himself in the same industry as her - becoming a musician himself, even though it was very much against his will, and being forced to attend tonight's industry party was no different. he found himself, as usual, on the outskirts of the party, plotting his escape and deciding to irish goodbye it while no one was looking. as he jetted towards the door, a small figure coming through the other way collided right into him, causing him to take a few steps back as he let out an annoyed huff, freezing in his place when eyes landed on the girl he had spent seven years avoiding.
