AHHH gosh yeah I need to do his free times. My first play thru I went in completely blind. I didn’t know ANYTHING that was gonna happen so when I wanted to do free times with him it was too late.

Ohhhh his FTEs are so good and wonderful. You get a lot more insight about him in them, the sweet boy. And regardless of ships, it is nice to see Hajime legitimately make an effort to try to understand him despite being unsettled by his behavior. (Though granted, you can only keep doing them if you spent time with him in Chapter 1, which makes sense, since it reads like Hajime trying to find the boy he’d known.)

And his final FTE just WRECKS ME SO HARD.

Oh this one made me upset when I got here. I sincerely believe he was mentally abused? His parents probably blamed him for a lot of things when they were still around

Oh absolutely. My personal headcanon is that his mother was heavily superstitious and paranoid and blamed him for everything, and dragged him all over the place looking for ways to “remove his curse” (which is why they were at San Cristobal like he says in an FTE) and was generally kind of awful, and his dad was a workaholic businessman who didn’t give a shit. So, rich family, yeah, but also really distant and not-so-great.

Either way, given his luck, it’s really not hard to believe that one or both of his parents was pretty awful towards him given his luck and how it would affect them.
