K'INKTOBER 20 - Tattooed Catching up with #kinktober #kinktober2020 #shibarinktober as prompted by @shibari.study. I love drawing tattoos during life drawing sessions. And I would love to learn how to do tattoos, even though I can't get a tattoo myself. However, I do not like to directly copy the tattoos on my drawings, as they are artwork that belong to the model and the tattoo artist. This drawing is based on a photo by @eripsycho, of @subay_kokorostudio tying @shizuki_iroha. The tattoo is amazing and my simplified style doesn't do it justice at all. Also, although only one of Subay's hands is visible in the photo, the strong connection between her and the model is quite palpable; the tenter touch with one finger, juxtaposed by the tension on the rope. K'INKTOBER 13 - Symmetry Catching up with #kinktober #kinktober2020 #shibarinktober as prompted by @shibari.study. Symmetry is a very common element of shibari ties, but it's not mandatory. More casual, playful shibari will be quite asymmetrical, going with the mood, but the aesthetics of the most common forms are so pleasing because of their symmetry, down to the way of how you tie knots to mirror each other. I came across shibari for the first time in a life drawing session. I had no idea what shibari was, and it was just mesmerising. I was hooked right away. But as there is still a big social stigma linked to it, it wasn't that easy to get into it.
