So I was talking with the lovely @shibedad and trying to explain how to make edits like this but words are hard so I decided to make a little tutorial that I’ve been meaning to make forever!!

Alright so these are actually really easy :)  Basically all you need is a gif (I used my own but if you use someone else make sure to get permission/credit!) and a background.  An optional part is the white circle part around the gif which you can make pretty easily, or if you going to make a lot of editing involving circles I recommend making a circle template and just using that every time you need it (of course you can use shapes other than circles for this).

Okay so first open your gif and your background.  Size the background in relation to the gif rather than sizing the gif in relation to the background (it’s a lot easier this way).  I had a 300x300 gif so I made the background/canvas 500x500.  Your set up should look something like this :

The background should be before the first frame of the gif.  Then you should select the shape you want to make the gif (I went with a circle and used my template).  Then just delete the part outside of the shape you want on all the frames of the gif (you can do this really quickly by using the arrow and delete keys).

Now you’re basically done :)  Just merge any background layers you have together with the first frame of the gif and when you’re saving/exporting the gif make sure it’s combine not replace.  Here’s the layers:

i know what you mean by not knowing what to blog about since dan and phil haven't really been active on youtube for close to a month, but i'd say just post about whatever you want/you like bc you don't really need to keep a specific theme to what you're posting about
