First things first kayn HATED how you seemed to be hapoy about everything
I hardly see kayn falling for someone out the the shadow order since he is mostly busy with master zed's mission, being an acolyte and his own goal to conquer rhaast power
So you're most likely a member and we'll stick to it
Unlike most people in the order you were bubbly and full of joy, most of them were orphans who lost theur family because of war, they had to grown up too fast and that's why most of them don't show much emotions
And if they do, they're mostly negative because they don't know how to deal with them
Your adorable personnality and bright smile make people drawn to you like a bug to a light
Since in their life you're most likely to be the brightest thing
But of course not all acolyte saw you as someone who can deal with shadow magic
Kayn was one of them, he fought that your persobbality didn't matched what was required to master shadows, and that in the end you'll be killed by these
But he was wrong
You were cute and adorable but not naive, you were mentally strong, event stronger than some of zedns student since most of them live while knowing only hatred and anger
One time kayn and you were both sent to a mission outside of Ionia, that's when kayn saw what you were really made of, and started to respect you a lot more
Things progressed slowly from there, from mutual respect to friends, and after kayn kept quiet about his crush for you for almost a year he finally confessed
You happily returned his feeling telling him that because of his always grumpy face you never dared to tell him what you felt

Even rhaast sight when he start to hear you babbling happily about whatever when kayn is just there and nodding along

When you go on separate mission he always kiss you on the forehead, a simple gesture to tell you that you'll be reunited

He is less stressed, less angry, and less likely to be consumed by the darkin
Sometime grab kayn's cheek and use them to make him have a weird face, he never complained about it because in the end he always receive a kiss
Sometime he want to make you happy and indulge you in a piggy back ride
And you convinced him to bring you back to the order like this, he thought that since it was night everyone would be asleep
They were not, and teased kayn for a month straight about it
He never gave you piggy back ride after that

It was no special occasion or anything, but it was the annual Celestial Festival in the capital, so we just HAD to go!I mean, there would be tons of food, games, music and the best, fireworks!Surprisingly enough, Kayn was rather excited for this too, seeing that it would be our first Festival together, so it would only go uphill from here~!I mean, of course, he showed his excitement by teasing, ruffling my hair and giving me a condescending smirk, but it was obvious that under this cool facade of his, he was waiting for this as much as I was.
Since it was a Festival, we got some nice Yukatas to wear, Kayn let me do his hair and as evening fell, we took off to the Festival, being in awe at how gorgeous everything was.
Being a nice, stereotypical boyfriend who wants to show off, he went to win all the cute little things he could from the game booths, only claiming that he wants to impress, not that he wanted to give me the nice prizes, but that’s okay, as if I don’t know his intentions~.
We ate some sakura mochi, fed each other dangos, drank some nice green tea, danced and sang at the concert, and by as night set completely, the time for Fireworks was soon.
Of course, this meant that the center of the festival got completely cramped and it was getting difficult to breathe, so Kayn started shoving people away, took my hand and dragged me away from there.
“It’s getting crowded. Here, hold my hand. Even if we stay here, we won’t see much. Let me show you where the best view is, okay?” he smirked, dragging me to a hill nearby, where the view of the Fireworks was incredibly, and I could only stare in wonder at the gorgeous display of the flowers on the sky, all the colours and shades possible, accompanied by gorgeous Japanese music to make it all even more ethereal, if that was even possible.
By the end of it, I was grinning so much that I jump-hugged Kayn as tight as I could, making him blush slightly and look away.
“Thank you for taking me here, Kayn! It was wonderful! We should definitely do this again!” I said, holding his hand and kissing his cheek.“If you liked this, I guess I should show you one last thing before we go home.” he muttered, taking me to the forest near the festival, where lots of Sakura trees were there, each and every branch having some sort of paper charms where many names were written.“Woaw…! What is this?” I asked curiously, looking around.“This is um…Well…It’s an old legend that says…If couples write their names and put it in these trees…Y’know…They’ll be together and happy for a long time and whatever the hell that is. You know better anyways.” he shrugged, looking away, not wanting to make it obvious that he knew much more than he wanted to say.“But…I didn’t know…And I didn’t bring any paper charm!” I gasped, looking at him in shock.“You didn’t…But I did.” he muttered, taking the paper charm from his Yukata pocket, revealing both our names neatly written in black ink.“Kayn…! You did this for us…? That’s so sweet!” I couldn’t stop myself from beaming with happiness and glee as I jumped on him again, kissing him playfully, then taking the charm from his hand since he was too shocked to react, and hanged it from a nice branch full of pretty pink flowers.“That’s…Nice, I guess.” he let out an amused breath, holding me tight.“There, see? Nothing in this world is gonna tear us apart, okay? And if Rhaast gets jealous again, then screw him! We’re cool, and he’s not!” I chuckled, leaning my head on his chest, smiling up at him in happiness.
He only chuckled back and pet my hair, kissing my head and just staying like that for a little longer before we returned back home, the euphoria from the festival still latching on to us.
