Clint startled as the door to the supply closet where he'd hidden himself away opened. He hastily dragged the back of his hands across his eyes, sitting up a little straighter. "What?" he said gruffly. He hadn't thought that he'd been seen going into the closet, but he just needed a few minutes alone to collect himself.

Clint didn’t handle tears very well; they generally sent him in a state of shock or triggered him to start apologizing because he was usually the one causing them. He didn’t think he’d done anything to warrant Agent Morse showing up at his doorstep in tears, and the fact that she was apologizing was really throwing him off.
