@shift-shaping
He was tired. And cold, and his head ached, and his feet dragged, unused to walking on snow. But mostly he was tired. He knew the world would be changed, but not quite how much. His difficulty in casting any magic was something he'd expected. The cold he felt was stupidly unexpected - wards against such things were such an everyday spell that he'd forgotten they were spells at all. Also unexpected was the distance he was having to walk from Tarasyl'an Te'las to reach any sort of civilization. But it was the humans that surprised him the most. He'd seen their advance in the Fade, of course - but it was strange to see them first as he neared the town, and nothing but them. He walked into the town's walls, not a single elvhen inside. These beings all felt… hollow. Empty, unfeeling -- ah, no connection to the Fade. Of course. Logical, but still made his stomach curl. It felt like walking into a city full of nothing but golems. And they looked oddly at him. Eyes on his clothing first, then at his ears, then back at his clothing, then frowning. A man asked him who he'd stolen his cloak from. Another passing by bumped onto him, started to apologize, then looked at him and shrugged, as if the sight of him meant there was no need for an apology. Everything felt incredibly… absurd. Walking ahead, puzzling over the state of things, he finally felt something. A tiny spark, perhaps much like his own currently - someone else with a connection to the Fade, finally. Perhaps an elvhen at last. He followed the sensation, which lead him into a small crude building - fitting for the rest of the city - where people drank and a single person sang. Casting his eyes around, he saw humans, humans, more humans and... Pointy ears? But that… that was not an elvhen. She didn't feel like - she also felt raw and hollow and - - The only spark of Fade he'd felt in someone else ever since he'd woken up. At a loss, he stood there, eyes on her, not sure what to think or do.
Truth or dare? /au verse
Hmm... Truth.
/groggily but aggressively cuddles into his side after a night of not actually having sex because they were both too tired

"Hm... you're cute."
“Speaking to yourself again, vhenan?”
Have you ever thought about getting married?
/awkwardly chokes on air/ What?
The good news is, at least you can go to sleep.
I cannot. Even sick, there is work to be done.
As Solas slept she explored his room, looking over his notes and paintings before being distracted by a particularly good book. When he awoke she was standing and reading it, her brows furrowed. But as soon as she saw him shift she smiled and returned to bed. "Vhenan," she said simply, kissing his forehead. "What got into you earlier? How are you feeling?"
Solas woke with a groan, his hand immediately traveling to his aching head.
“Horrible.” He said simply, slowly sitting up and leaning against the headboard of the bed. “I.. cannot remember a thing.” He closed his eyes and started trying to heal his headache with some soothing green magic. “I hope I was not too embarrassing?”
