Dear Hikaru,
Since today is your birthday, I want to give you a little something. It’s not much, of course. I wasn’t sure whether I should even ask you to spend this day with me, I am sure you’ve got thousand things to do or you’re with your family after all.
Anyway, I hope you will like it. It’s just a bottle with a few coloured, folded stars in it. But I’d like you - and maybe me - to fill it with wishes and good things that have happened throughout the next months. As the year wears on, I don’t want any single star in there to be empty anymore.
Please let us gather wonderful memories and make wishes for the future together. I want us to open it at the end of next year again, so we can look back on all the things we’ve been through and on all the things that gave us strength and made us feel good again. I would love to see your smile then.
I know you don’t want to hear it right now, but I will say it, anyway. You know I’m as stubborn as they come.
I love you, Hikaru. And this won’t change. I hope your days will be filled with joy and warmth from now on.
P.s.: you’re one year closer to becoming an old grandpa. Congrats! ❤
