Ahh yes, the „we talk about music but actually we talk about sexuality as well“ talk. Trin likes „classical music“ because he really likes it but also because everyone likes it. Tanwa is open to feel and taste every „kind of music“. Also Trin wants to leave after this conversation because he still hasn‘t fully accepted his queerness but Tanwa is able to calm him down and make him realise that what he feels while listening to other kinds of „music“ is happiness.
Gosh people are a lot sometimes like it is so hard to process
I'm really excited to see if every episode in shine features an origami (made by Tanwa), a transition that showcases Trin's inner state (image completely in blue) and one main song because there are 9 songs on the OST and (minus the opening song) this would fit exactly for the total of 8 episodes. Each episode having a main song is very likely going to happen but the other two are just assumptions.
Tanwa's French
When me and my friends were watching episode 3 we were all trying to figure out what language Tanwa was speaking in the pool scene. We guessed that it was supposed to be French. The funny thing is, we all learned French in school and some of my friends need it on a regular basis in their jobs. I'm sorry my sheila. We don't understand you.
On another note, he doesn't need to be perfect. Tanwa probably learned that sentence to impress and communicate with Trin only. Which is very romantic. But Trin my language genious understood perfectly which is what counts. If this was me, I would have asked at least three times if he could repeat the sentence and this would have turned akward very quickly. Apo on the other hand, is really good at speaking French. You feel the effort he put into it to make sure that it is believable that Trin lived in Paris for so long.
In the scene at College/University he speaks French a second time. He actually said "Ne pas choisir, c'est encore choisir." This delivery was easier to understand than the first one. Did he also learn that sentence only to impress Trin? Also this sentence is a quote from the book "La nauseé" from Sartre which is the book that Trin carries with him.
I read somewhere on Twitter/X that Shine is a romcon but only for Trin and Tanwa. 100% agree.
Trin and Tanwa: so close but still so far away
When I was rewatching the second episode of shine the series I realised something:
While Trin is going through his gay panic he decides to visit "Echoes of Euphoria" again. He hopes that visiting the place where he kissed Tanwa might help him go through his emotions.
You can see in the shot that follows that the establishment is closed.
Shortly afterwards, he sees Tanwa making out with a girl. You can see that Tanwas shirt is already ripped.
Which means that the confrontation with his father happened shortly before. In the flashback, when the guards force Tanwa into his fathers car, you can see that one of the bodyguards hangs the closed sign on the door.
In conclusion, this means while Tanwa was having the worst time having to face his father right behind the next corner (I don't think the bodyguards dragged him further away), Trin was dealing with his emotions right in front of "Echoes of Euphoria". So they were basically almost at the same place but didn't meet each other.
Shine timeline
An interesting observation about Shine The Series and the Stonewall riots is that they took place between June 28 until July 3, 1969. Then I realised Klai Rung's latest column was signed with August 1969. Which means that the Stonewall riots in their reality just happened a month or two ago.

Tanwa the eternal student
It makes sense that Tanwa is an eternal student because he has the money and he learns as versatile as he can for life. This is totally in character. But honestly, my first thought when I saw this scene was that maybe he is down so bad that he decided on a random Tuesday that he wants to see Doctor Trin therefore he is a student now. Would have been hilarious.
