Anybody know what this phrase means? When I clicked my shine app this am, I was like da fuq? Haha I knew the article would explain, so off I went to the internet to read it. Talk about hitting our way of being on the head!! As you can see from the second pic, we as people tend to compare ourselves and our lives to someone else’s or hold impossible standards for ourselves. Do I think we need standards? OF COURSE. BUT realistically, when we don’t hit them, we should not tie in our self worth with those standards and allow ourselves to feel subpar. This article has great insight on how we can not ignore who we are and what we care about but to feel it and proactively move on and what steps to effectively do so. So STOP 🛑 ✋ comparing. Let yourself off the hook. Look within yourself and compare yourself only to who you were yesterday. Make goals of betterment according to what is important to YOU. Not your mother, your father, your bff, your frenemy. Sometimes our loved ones can offer insight but ultimately they must respect and have faith in our own decision making. There is a need for this platform because prayers for others often go unheard and we don’t actually know when someone has prayed for us. Shine would a direct benefit to a persons emotional and cognitive well being through the lifting up of a ones spirit.
