Got the second dose of my shongles shit today and goddamn they really do love to charge for the privilege of not getting painfully, chronically sick don't they?? a couple hundred dollars for a single poke - I think here if you're over a certain age they cover it? or maybe not, maybe it's a job-covered benefit for some people? IDK, all I know is I'm a couple hundred dollars poorer because I don't want to risk busting out in weeping sores and dealing with painful neuralgia for the rest of my life... harrumph.

Not to be all Sally O'Malley about it all, BUT I'M 50! I got my first dose of the shingles vaccine yesterday. Cannot express how much I DO NOT WANT shingles…and how I'm worried that RFK is going to take away my rights to vaccinate.

38 hrs post shingrix shot #1, i have a hard lump that feels like a half tennis ball at the injection site, its 4 inch diameter red on top, & feels hot & itchy 😬. Ice packs, moving it a lot, distraction. I'm glad it's not worse.
