This Meeting Could Have Been a Heavenly E-mail
Ronova: Asmoday is late. Which one of you called a meeting of the Shades? Naberius?
Rhinedottir: Don't look at me. I've no idea what could possibly be important enough to warrant summoning all five of us.
Istaroth: You'll find out soon enough.
Ronova: Would you shut up, Istaroth? We get it, you experience every moment on the timeline all at once. Do you even know when you are right now?
Istaroth: To one who stands in the flowing river of temporality, "when" is a pointless question with a meaningless answer.
Ronova: ...right. In any case, Asmoday remains conspicuously absent. Did she schedule this gathering? I'm not made of free time-
Istaroth: I'm made of free time.
Ronova, deliberately ignoring Istaroth: -and I have other very important things I could be doing instead.
Rhinedottir: Like what, killing all of my projects?
Ronova: Your "projects" are an affront to the natural order. I eliminate them because they should never have existed in the first place.
Naberius: Could you at least try to temper your destructive impulses? Rhinedottir gets peevish when you break her toys, and then I'm the one who has to live with the consequences.
Ronova: Is that you, Naberius, or Rhinedottir speaking about herself in the third person again? I swear, dealing with you has been such a chore ever since you began this unholy collaboration.
Rhinedottir: Speaking of collaborating, Ronova, I'd love to hear about whatever it is you've got going on with that foul-tempered Fatui gentleman. He seems rather obsessed with you.
Ronova: Which one? You'll have to be more specific.
Istaroth: She means the one who isn't fused with the Lord of the Night.
Ronova: Oh, him? He's still mad that I cursed him. I don't understand what his problem is. It's not like he doesn't have an eternity to get over himself.
Istaroth: Mortals don't wear eternity comfortably. Forever is a long time. I mean, it's not a long time to me, but for those fleeting creatures with a lifespan the ceaseless passage of time tends to stretch interminably towards everlasting agony, when it's not collapsing in upon itself.
Ronova: Shut up, Istaroth!
Rhinedottir: I can't believe I rescheduled an experiment for this.
