While you never thought your boyfriend fucked up nearly as bad as he chalked it all up to be -- he could’ve been cheating on you or murdering people rather than what he was doing -- he beat himself up for it every single time. He knew you’d be disappointed -- that was a given that you wouldn’t deny -- but that didn’t mean you hated him.

“I know I said I could control my temper, but I can’t,” he told you, his voice breaking at the end as he fell back into the sink, his butt hitting the counter as his shoulders slumped forward.

His face was bruised and covered in cuts, and his clothes were stretched out, torn, and dirty. He’d gotten into another fight yet again, and he knew you’d be disappointed. He knew you wanted him to stop letting his anger get the best of him, but he continued to make the same mistake over and over again.

But you were always there to clean him up, kiss him, and tell him you would help him.

“Joshua, it’s--”

“Don’t say it’s okay, ___,” he choked out a sob, not wanting to cry in front of you but he couldn’t stop it. “It’s not okay! I keep fucking up! I...I don’t deserve to be loved...especially not by you.”

You frowned, gripping his chin and forcing him to look at you as you gave him a stern look. However, you were going to scold him for what he assumed you would, “Don’t you ever say that ever again, Joshua Hong. You’re trying, and I will love you every single day you continue to try; even if you fail sometimes.”

He didn’t move to wipe the few tears that dribbled down his face as he stared at you with nothing but love and fondness in his eyes. He stroked your cheek with the back of his bruised hand, “How did some asshole like me end up with someone as amazing as you?”
