                  i always forget to mention that retirees of the ueda clan either do courier / postal work that’s like exclusively non-shinobi related or they put their use on the farm that the ueda still owns land for. when kids, most of them likely worked on the farm as well, which means Saburo spent a good portion of his childhood between courier work / training / school, deep in dirt.

saburo is unashamedly a Very Pretty Boy and while i myself don’t write much nsfw stuff, he’s into ‘monogamous’ fwb and really Does Not catch feelings. But he prefers to stick with one person to fool around with for a while before moving on once things get ‘too close’.

what's the weirdest thing the clan have had to deal with to date

               You had me sitting here for so long thinking, because I mean there must be all sorts of weird shit they’ve had to deliver. This is a ninja village. They probably end up with all sorts of odd messages to send and having to deliver things straight to the receiver (there’s a joke i have with @maskage --who will see this whenever she pops back around lmao--that saburo consistently shows up for Kakashi in the middle of Kakashi doing questionable and embarrassing things). 

              But, imagine: Aburame need a delivery. They offer a box over. It’s buzzing. The person in question says softly, ‘you might want to be careful with that, they can be a little temperamental’. So now you have this poor mail man just like freaking out all the way to the Ueda Postal Center with a “box of bees” thinking he might die if he shakes it just the wrong way. 

              And then I mean I’m sure there’s other scenarios with delivering parcels to other villages. But I am not nearly so creative to think one up.

Cant remember if I've mentioned this, but while the Ueda clan isn't well known for their fighting style, they do have one they made of their own. Due to their kekkei genkai, they devised a style that uses precise activation of flashstep.

At the height of each kick, punch or other attack, the fighter will activate flashstep making their attack just that much faster. It makes it difficult for opponents to dodge, or even anticipate an attack because the perceived speed won't match. This precision takes a lot of practice. All Ueda clan members learn from young and those with great aptitude are praised for their skill.

It's been a while since I've made a concrete thing for Saburo's life so:

His former genin team falls apart following a routine mission that ends up prey to village tensions. Saburo is 14.

Mao, his cousin and sensei, believes their package was of more importance than they were told.

Youta died, Mao was in a coma, and Takara went missing for four months before she was found.

Youta's death hit Saburo really hard but he keeps moving forward.

Saburo takes on various missions with his other former classmates as back up when needed.

He knows almost everyone at this point in some vague way-- both due to being a courier for his clan and the missions.

He is recruited into ANBU at 15.

Sometime after Kakashi becomes hokage, he is recruited as a guard for him.

Saburo ends up eventually taking on a role as Kakashi's assistant. It's something of an undercover role since the Ueda clan are just couriers-- he can play that role well.

Once Kakashi passes the seat on to Naruto, Saburo returns to his guard work in ANBU.

It's pretty chill for a while.

Outside of ANBU missions, Saburo also does his mail route for his clan.

He shares an apartment with his bastard brother on Ueda land, mostly because he is hardly ever home and at least Souma is good at cleaning up.

It's possible that the entire Ueda clan can achieve the 2nd tier of the kekkei genkai. One person unlocking it allows the trait to be passed down more easily, meaning children will already be capable of it without having to go through the strain of unlocking it like their parents. But it's because of that strain and lack of initiative that most of the Ueda posess, none of them realize there is no separation between the clan.

And it's likely even if one of the Tier 1 members unlocked tier 2, they wouldnt say anything because it's best not to talk about it. No one wants to hear it.
