“You’re not dying, fukuchou, so shush,” he hissed.  She was so light in his arms, even as slight as he was himself.  “Just hold on alright?? Gonna get you someplace you can be taken care of, so just save your strength.

Enough soldiers were fallen around them for anyone still breathing to give them a wide berth.  They wouldn’t dare challenge him.

 “Evening.” The Hero of Isshin tips his hat in a cordial greeting before grabbing his cup of sake and taking a sip of it. Gesturing with his free hand to the seat next to him, inviting the other for a drink. Tonight sure was a good night for drinking, or so he thought.

“Oh," Well, this was rather an unexpected visit all in all. “Vice Commander Hijikata. An honor, indeed.”

[⟡]  “I see,” He muttered to himself and glanced to the side. He didn’t say he doubted her words, but her actions…were making her words quite questionable itself.

[⟡]  “Not to impose or anything, but may I ask why you are holding onto my arm so tightly?” He asked, offering a small smile to the smaller second-in-command, hoping he didn’t offend her in any way. The two servants were out here as courtesy from their master, who decided to throw a party or sort for the autumn holiday. 

A trial of courage, was what their master called it. Interested, he decided to pair up with the Shinsengumi vice-commander, who seemed interested (or at least he believed so) in this event as well. Thus leading the two to their current situation.
