It makes sense then why Buddhism hit it off so well in Japan but Christianity did not.

I’ve been legitimately praying to shinto kami recently. I sent out good thoughts before one time I went to Osaka and I didn’t get lost and a man gave me a train pass with money on it, another time I prayed for my mum to have a safe journey home and she got upgraded to business class. I also prayed for a man who runs a guest house bc his accomodation and kindness made me cry with joy but I guess I’ll never know if my prayers worked. In any case shintoism isn’t praying to some benevolent god anyway, I’m just putting good vibes out.
