Ok, who's missing for the meme? Besides Lou&Steve. I think they would only hold hands for arm-wrestling but I wanna read what you think if you are up to it.

Oh. Oh, I have such conflicted thoughts on Lou. He was brought in last season and hammered like a star shaped peg into a too small round hole and no one was allowed to think he wasn't awesome, and he was the Foil (That was Lori, That was Danny) until he wasn't.

And then he was the best friend and only person who could help Steve with his PTSD (because somehow Catherine & Danny both couldn't, and never heard about him having PTSD issues at all in S4) and the writer's rewrote the whole first episode in Steve's mouth to give Lou all of that. 

But. 

Grover's been amazingly fitted in in his own way in S5. Like well written, with Steve and with the other people, without displacing Danny. And I've really loved him there. 

The umbrella, when it rains -  Grover & Steve both snort at the concept of even just considering the other offering to hold an umbrella to each other or even considering considering offering other out to the other, except in dire circumstances. 

The popcorn at the cinema - Steve & Lou would totally be whisper one upping each other, predicting what's happening in the movie, or telling each other to shut up. Tossing handfuls of popcorn at each other by the end. 

The baby, when it cries - Grover. He's a great dad. He has all the skills. 

The ice cream cone, when they share - Not a thing that would really happen. The snow cone deleted scene with them was hilarious enough, given that most of it was glaring and silent and amazing. 

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Multiple Control Freaks Vie for the Remote. Steve still wins, but Grover probably doesn't give in. 

The basket, when they go shopping - Grover, because Control Freak 2/3. But, also, because Steve is glad to trick people into wanting to do tasks he feels no need to do if someone else can be looped into them. This is called skillful leadership and delegation. (:D? *facepalm*) 

The door, on dates - This is pretty much the same as most of the others. It's not a big focus, but both of them can be polite from time to time, but don't go out of their way for the effort. 

The other’s hand, most often - Yeah. Arm-wrestling might be the only way. 

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - So. Not a thing that would happen. But Gen-ified, Grover would be at Steve's wedding, in his party (like all of Five-0 main), crazy tall and proud, with insult-laden comments of approval. 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Same as Danny & Mary, this is a great skill of good parents. And every single parent, which the only parent this show really loves showing long term, finds a way into mastering it.

I just... you write Steve so cute with everyone. The Steve+Max+baby image you gave me, and the shopping with Chin and Lori, really, so good, all of it. Can you please do Mary & Steve?

:D :D :D I'm so glad. I love, love, love Steve. And part of loving Steve is loving the world and all the people around Steve. Steve as a Super Human Robot by himself wouldn't be compelling the way he is as the man slowly becoming more and more real because of all of this. 

And it would be my pleasure to do Mary, because I love Those McGarrett Kids. 

The umbrella, when it rains -   Steve, because no matter how far they go or how long they were apart, Mary will always be his baby sisters and he'll always feel beholden to and responsible for her. Even more so Steve if Mary is currently carrying Joan. 

The popcorn at the cinema -  Steve, though they've both end up throwing popcorn kernels at each other. 

The baby, when it cries -  Mary, because she's getting so good at being a mom. But she's got this special, really proud, sort of almost teary-eyed smile, when she wakes up to find Steve already there, bouncing Joan with extreme care, like she's a glass a object, and taking care of Joan, talking to her high-pitched, wheedlingly militaristic tones about being quiet so her mom has sleep a few more hours. 

The ice cream cone, when they share -  Mary, because she'll always be the more footlose and fancy free one of them

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie -  Steve, The Control Freak, but his baby sister has no problem going in for kill and trying to get it from him. OR. Stealing it before he even makes it to the couch. 

The basket, when they go shopping - Steve would be on cart duty, because Mary would be flitting up and down the aisles, and he would be telling her to stop tossing things in, and she would be telling him she'll stop when he stops, and they'll get their whole list and like 15 things nobody needs but will make everyone in the house smile. 

The door, on dates -  Siblings, so ixnaey on the ating-day. But Steve, again, for a lot of the same reasons as the umbrella. 

The other’s hand, most often -  Mary. Steve does not touch a lot of people without the need to be comforting them, but Mary exists right on the edge of liminal space because Mary is and will always be his Baby Sister and he will always want the best and most for her without always knowing how to properly express that love or fear. But he'll never pull away from her, and he'll always want to drag her under his wing.

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day -  Again, siblings. But I think Mary will already be in tears with the biggest smile when Steve is already standing at the altar waiting. And Steve will totally be holding his breath, beaming with such pride, the day he walks Mary down the aisle (because you know it would be him). 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Mary! Because she's totally honing those awesome New Mom skills. Sending Steve pictures on her phone all the time so he can watch her growing up, without missing it, because they've promised not to miss out on each other and each other's lives now.

Steve&Chin and Steve&Lori, because write more, more, mooore :D

Steve & Chin

The umbrella, when it rains -  Two people who've grown up in the Hawaiian rainstorms, neither of them really probably care much about this except when it pours. Then everyone's got one in a car and the office.  

The popcorn at the cinema - Tossing it back and forth between themselves, and angling it at each other when the other wants more, and probably only buying one over two bags when the popcorn deal is sweeter that way.

The baby, when it cries - Chin! All the kids in his extended family! 

The ice cream cone, when they share - They probably wouldn't. 

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Steve, The Control Freak & Chin, The Super Laid Back Aloha Man would not actually have problems with any of this.

The basket, when they go shopping - Chin. Because he's cool floating along behind the supernova of Steve McGarrett and just shaking his head in amusement of Steve The SEAL buying all his healthy things and then shrugging his shoulders and becoming Steve The Big Kid getting sweets/greasy/tastey things, too.

The door, on dates - This is more a polite thing that neither of them would pay attention to at all. 

The other’s hand, most often - For support, when and if the other needed it, but this wouldn't at all be a regular thing either. 

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - Drastically, N/A. But given that he was in Chin's wedding party, Chin will probably hold a similar position for him.

The camera, when they take pictures together - Chin, Chin, Chin. All the kids and amazing wife and life of a cop. So many reasons of being good at looking and things, and loving have memories captured and collected.

Steve & Lori

The umbrella, when it rains -  Steve, though Lori would totally give him that weighing look about whether she can just take the move as a kindness or whether she wants to stand on her own two feet and not take any charity from the man she wants to keep earning the respect of more than accepting the charity of. 

The popcorn at the cinema - Steve, very likely on the armrest again, though Lori (& Max) would try to explain the joys of drink soda through twizzlers especially during midnight showings. 

The baby, when it cries - Lori, but she would totally be laughing at the way Steve can handle gore and criminals without pause but slams into uncertain awkwardness with kids

The ice cream cone, when they share - Lori.  But it would be more of a dare than a cutesy thing. Because he needs to unwind and remember how to smile more than just three people in his life. 

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Steve, The Control Freak

The basket, when they go shopping - Lori gets the basket and tries to make Steve take the list, and they have a lot of colorful conversations about Steve putting two things in the basket for every one on the list. 

The door, on dates - Lori. Specifically because of how hard she fought to be who she is and where she is. Lori opens her own doors: literally and figuratively. 

The other’s hand, most often - This would not happen, except when it has to, like the required to be carried down a mountain or when Steve is bleeding out into the road. Unrequited feelings can be hard enough without everyone touching everyone else. 

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - Totally wouldn't. But she'd totally be invited to Steve's. And, yeah, she'd be a little breathless at him in his suit, but not in an envious way at that point. She'd be too happy for him/them being happy.

The camera, when they take pictures together - I don't really see either of them as this person, for vastly different reasons.

Steve&Max

The umbrella, when it rains -  Max, who would be so confused and nervous about Steve not wanting to stand under his umbrella, that probably could never get high enough, and Steve would be so confused by the possibly geeky umbrella (like one of nifty lightsaber ones) that it would be this awkward standoff of adorable.

The popcorn at the cinema - Who knows. Steve. Max. It depends on who buys it and who is adding what to it, and who is talking more or eating more. 

The baby, when it cries - .....ha. This is a hard one. It's probably Steve, while Max rolls off increasingly faster and louder facts about Babies and watches very closely.

The ice cream cone, when they share - They wouldn't, but Max would have a bowl of it, with something pickled in glass jars, at a BBQ.

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Steve, probably. Because. Controlling. Also. Because shushing. 

The basket, when they go shopping - Max. He likes hands on tasks. Pushing the basket would be more calming than being asked to run around and get things. That the big floppy puppy's Commander's job.

The door, on dates - Meh. Also not really a thing. They both could, but probably feel no massive need to do it over being a polite, whoever was there first, thing. 

The other’s hand, most often - This would not be a Steve & Max thing at all. 

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Max! With a crazy ton of facts about how cameras compare to the human eye, how they both exceed it and cannot come close to the natural marvel of sight yet.

Steve&Kono!

The umbrella, when it rains -  Neither of them. They both probably have one in the car. Somewhere. But as people who spend a lot of time in the sea, neither of them really cares about getting a little wet.

The popcorn at the cinema - 

The baby, when it cries - This would be like baby experiment hour, except even Kono would laugh at Steve. Being raised in a pack of cousins and kids does that. 

The ice cream cone, when they share - All Kono, and the snow cone love. 

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Steve, The Control Freak. But Kono would spend the night sneaking it from him every time he let his guard down or went for another slice of pizza or bottle of beer or the head. 

The basket, when they go shopping - Steve, but they'd both be just tossing things in, and they'd probably forget 2-3 things they came for. But they'd have 15 others that would make the trip fun.  

The door, on dates - Steve, because tall. 

The other’s hand, most often - Neither of them really. Though Steve wouldn't pull away if Kono needed his or support. He'd be there for her.

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - Nnnnooopppee. But they'd totally be there for each others. 

The camera, when they take pictures together - either or both, but really it's neither and nor, because they are the crazy ones people are usually catching on film doing things.

Steve & Jenna pls, pls *puppy eyes*

I love, love, love, love, love, love Jenna and the Steve-Jenna relationship. The big bad bruiser and the teeny tiny CIA quint girl, who are both very dramatically going through the same situation and only finding a true understanding of their circumstances, and how much they'd sacrifice for the people they love, in each other. 

The umbrella, when it rains - Steve. See tall vs. tiny. 

The popcorn at the cinema - It probably starts out as Steve and ends up in Jenna's lap or on her leg, totally half dropped and popcorn spilling everywhere and the most adorable apologies and rambling ever, that leave Steve smiling in spite of everything and other people shhhhhing them fiercely. 

The baby, when it cries - Jenna, see again Steve and having to holding babies who are not Joan

The ice cream cone, when they share - Jenna. This is all Jenna and I could totally see it. She might even push one up in face all happily telling him to try it. Just remember her face with the snowcone. She is the cutest little thing ever.

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Steve, The Control Freak

The basket, when they go shopping -  Steve, The Control Freak. Even though Jenna would totally be holding a list, trying to adhere exactly to the things needed for the BBQ exactly while making increasingly anxious-curious-tempted faces while Steve just grabs random things and throws them in the cart. 

The door, on dates - Steve, because as much as he pretends not to be he actually is really good at taking care of his people once he's determined they are his. 

The other’s hand, most often -   They wouldn't date, but -- Jenna. Jenna is totally that girl who would jump and get freaked out during movies and end up grabbing your hand while doing said jumping and freaking out, but never realized she stole your hand or was clenching it to the point of losing blood. 

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - N/A, friends friends friends friends 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Jenna. Can you imagine how cheerful and adorable she'd look if someone told her to document in pictures a BBQ?

I assume 800000000000 other people will ask for it, but this one is for ME. Steve/Danny, hold meme!

The umbrella, when it rains - I can't see either of them caring about this one. Steve doesn't mind getting damp, and Danny if he wanted an umbrella would just get one for himself. He's not a shy daisy in need of care and babying. 

The popcorn at the cinema - Steve, The Control Freak

The baby, when it cries - Danny, because if you think Steve can get to a crying child faster than Danny you are hilariously mistaken

The ice cream cone, when they share - Either, almost always in a mocking, taunting, threatening fashion more than anything cute (though I promise it would end cute and with ice cream flavored kissing)

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Steve, The Control Freak

The basket, when they go shopping - Both, because they both have drastically different ideas about what "food" is and who needs what, and don't forget that thing Grace liked last. They'd trade off as needed, and while someone was tracking things down. 

The door, on dates - This really doesn't happen much. 

The other’s hand, most often - Danny, because he uses touch as another form of communication 

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - Both of them, for such vastly different reasons. Danny, because he never thought he'd be this happy again and Steve, because he never thought this could happen in his life. House, husband, daughter. A family. A real life. Happiness of any kind. 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Danny. He's been a father for over a decade. This is totally a skill he has.

Steve & Ellie (whut?)

Aw, I like "&" ships. Friend!ships are the best ships, and just as important. While I don't find even Steve and Ellie's friendship believable yet, and I do find it too fast, I will do what I can.

I do think Ellie would be highly compelling to Steve as the girl who was emotionally-adopted by his father. Even though the adoption of another small blonde girl would be uncomfortable at the same time.

The umbrella, when it rains - Steve (still because he's taller)

The popcorn at the cinema - Steve (but he'd hold it on the arm of the chair, because they can share, and he can hold something still in an awkward position for hours and it won't even bother him)

The baby, when it cries - Ellie (because any child who isn't Joan is probably left to other people)  

The ice cream cone, when they share - They'd buy two, Steve isn't this kind of friend even with Chin, Kono, Jerry and Lou

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Steve (still see control freak) 

The basket, when they go shopping - (Steve same reason) 

The door, on dates - He'd do it, more professionally and regimentally than anything else.

The other’s hand, most often -  No one does. 

Their breath, upon seeing the other on their wedding day - N/A 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Ellie, because it'd be under the long list of "good at" things we keep getting for her. (And because Steve never does this at all.)
