I have now seen up until the lodge and aaron outing robert and this is just such good content. these men are insane. rob has threatened to hurt or kill multiple people, and I still root for these two.
I’ve missed this obsession.

The only sound in Robert’s office is the clock, the slow tick of time passing, and Robert is staring at his screen doing absolutely nothing.
He should be looking for a new job, or spending time on a new business idea, or working on that app he wants to develop but it all seems too difficult, too big a task to even consider starting. So he just stares at his email, waiting for a chance to use his brain.
It doesn’t come.
So he takes out his phone and finds the word puzzle game he has going with Vic. They started the game when he moved in, initially as a friendly game of scrabble that has now morphed into a fully fledged tournament. Not that either of them are particularly good at it; Robert’s chosen language is Python and Vic’s strong suit was never words but she does know some very niche food-related names so they are always toe-to-toe. The one good thing about the past few months is getting closer to his sister.

Robert Sugden hates his job.
A myth about working in corporate IT is that you get to be an expert, a knowledgeable specialist, a problem-solver. You get to work with lots of people, help them, impress them. You get to feel smart at the end of the day.
In reality, Robert works in the basement of an office building, staring at three screens and counting down the minutes until he can get to work on his own project, start his own business. Be anywhere but here.
To be completely truthful, there isn’t much about his life that Robert loves.
