Also received today: From Shippei, legendary dog and mascot of Iwata city, Shizuoka prefecture. He had his 8th birthday last week.

Shippei (from Iwata, Shizuoka Pref.) is based on legendary dog Shippeitarō, who helped defeat some evil spirits and put an end to a ritual of human sacrifice (it's complicated!). Dogs aren't normally known for their modesty, but Shippei wears a loincloth.
