The kind folks (owner Drew Parker) at Separk Music in Lewisville, NC (near Winston-Salem) let me spend some time this afternoon trying out 4 trombones made by Eastman/Shires. There was the Eastman ETB828 rotary valve tenor, the Eastman ETB829 axial flow valve tenor, the Shires Q Series Q30YR rotary valve tenor, and the Shires Q series Q30YA axial Valve tenor. All were good and all better than any tenor I own or have owned and probably as good as any that played before.
