Im happy to see my baby Seiji in new art and he look good like usually
Edgeshot is also completly fine and seem like he still does hero work considering his clothing. He changed his normal mask to an oni mask i belivie and his old Hannya mask is changed to one that look more like a cow looking one and he got two. And beast jeanist is wearing a croped verison of his old top which seem more right to me
This from the new panorama art
(Sketch Log - Week 45)
Tried drawing more of the full body on some of them, but I guess my instincts still convert that into drawing heads too big or limbs too short once I go below the waist.
be my solace
notes; I do not remember writing most of this LMFAO, but I suppose I might aswell post it. RIP Seiji’s dad you will NOT be missed, especially by me. Not proofread sorry .
summary: comforting shishikura after his father’s passing.
your feet pitter patter on the ground, splashing the clear puddles as you run. You run. Without stopping, quick as you possibly can. Rain is pelting down onto the ground beneath drenching your hair and your clothes, how fitting for the occasion. Your knuckles wrap before frantically knocking on the door of the Shishikura estate. You’re impatient, desperate. Knock, knock, knock. It’s silent for a few minutes, but you relent knocking again.
mid-knock the door swings open, revealing the eldest Shishikura son. His face devoid of his usual pride. The muscles on his face are relaxed from exhaustion revealing more of his dark pupils. He looks dejected, tired. Too tired to hold his usual hard dignified expression.
“i came as soon as I heard.” You say, panting. your hair is wet, clothes drenched in the rain.
You wonder if he’s been crying, but even after knowing him after all this time even you don’t know how he would deal with grief. Especially the grief of losing his father.
He steps aside, letting your dripping form inside. “you really are irresponsible, running in this weather with no umbrella. You could catch a cold, have some sense.” His words lack the usual dictatorial attitude. He seems more genuine, more calm. He makes no move to acknowledge why you’re actually here. He choses to ignore it.
His father was certainly not a good man, nor a good father. His morals were.. questionable, but shishikura looked up to him nonetheless. Even going as far as choosing a school that replicated his father’s work uniform. You couldn’t even start to imagine the raging war inside him. A part of you was upset about the man too, but you were more worried about Seiji.
“Seiji-“ you start before he cuts you off abruptly, as he gives you a towel to dry yourself, “Don’t, please.” He takes a breath, “My father, died with honour and dignity. Yet, I want to slaughter the man who did this to him. My blood is so hot with anger, I can’t even grieve.”
You shake your head, drying yourself, “you know you can’t give into spite and hatred, you’d be giving him what he wants.” Your hands reach out for his, before softly pulling him into an embrace. Your soaking clothes drip onto the floor, some of the water seeping onto his own shirt, any other day Shishikura would’ve pushed you away, scolding you for getting him dirty and how you appearance doesn’t reflect how the qualities of a Shiketsu student but today he’s given up. Today, he doesn’t relent. the one person he can truly say he loved is gone. so he’ll take it. He’ll take any comfort given to him.
With his anger subsided, he starts to feel it, the reality dawning on him that is father will never come back. He will never walk in again through the doors of the house ever again. The gulps down the lump forming in his throat, the pit of his stomach feels like its digging a hole deeper into its organs. He wraps his arms around you, tight. Using you like an anchor to stop himself from bursting into tears. His face is hidden, he doesn’t want to be seen by anyone. He wants to hide, and you provide a perfect set of arms for him to do exactly that.
shishikura seiji, the man he is. he only has eyes for you ever. he might not show it and he might pretend like he doesn’t care but his stoic disposition falters immediately as soon as he sees the pearly tears spill out of your waterline. his hands reach for your face his expression softening by a tenfold as he asks you “what is the reason behind your tears?” whilst wiping them with his thumbs. he shushes your woes bringing you close to his warm body, “oh my sweet girl, tell me what’s wrong.”
If we look at Seiji Shishikura’s “more than meets the eye” factor, the case is that—while at first glance he comes across as a rigid, pompous elitist—there are deeper psychological layers and contradictions that complicate him:
1. Surface Persona vs. Hidden Motivations
Surface: He’s obsessed with dignity, tradition, and “weeding out” heroes he deems unworthy. He talks like an old-fashioned noble, keeps impeccable posture, and holds Shiketsu High’s ideals like sacred scripture.
Underneath: Some of this is a coping mechanism tied to his upbringing and personal loss—his father was a Tartarus guard murdered by All For One. His need for order and propriety may stem from a desire to protect the image and stability of hero society after personal chaos.
2. Moral Rigidity vs. Emotional Complexity
His rigidity leads him to antagonize and insult others (Bakugo, Kaminari, Camie), which makes him seem judgmental and arrogant.
Yet, he’s capable of empathy—showing concern for Camie after the Toga impersonation, saving Hawks in the Final War, and choosing not to give in to revenge despite wanting to kill All For One for his father’s death.
3. Idealism vs. Blind Spots
Seiji claims to act “for the good of the hero system,” but fails to self-reflect. Teachers and peers see Stain’s influence on his views, but he denies it outright—showing a blind spot about how ideology can creep in subconsciously.
His failure in the Provisional License Exam was as much about his unwillingness to adapt and collaborate as it was about skill.
4. Tactical Brilliance vs. Strategic Shortcomings
In battle, he’s clever and dangerous, using his Meatball quirk in creative ways for offense, defense, and crowd control.
However, his focus on “teaching lessons” rather than winning or advancing the mission sometimes undermines him—like prioritizing punishing “unworthy” students over passing the exam.
5. Reputation vs. Reality
To outsiders, he’s the “stiff Shiketsu senpai” obsessed with propriety. But in the Final War, he proves adaptable, cooperative, and capable of self-restraint, showing that the pompous exterior hides a disciplined and reliable combatant in the right circumstances.
In short—Seiji is a case study in how strong ideals, if unchecked by humility, can become a personal weakness, but also how those same ideals, when tempered by lived experience, can make someone a resilient and principled ally.
