hooo boy. friendship is communication and love and acceptance and staying by your side. friendship is acknowledging that you aren’t always going to agree. friendship is supporting each other when you can and having someone’s back. friendship is telling the truth even if it might hurt their feelings. friendship is cuddling and laughing and having secrets. friendship is talking shit and giving shit but taking no shit. friendship is late nights staying awake and questioning the purpose of life and what would happen if we died tomorrow. 

friendship is knowing that you won’t always be together, but knowing that you’re still important.

A Life in the year of 2015

So here is everything I can recall happening to me in 2015. It might get TMI so it’s going under the cut. But if you’re curious go ahead and look.

Started off year with a new years party that ended with being home in time for the Hootenanny. (This year will hopefully not end in the same way)

Went to Belgium for a long boozey weekend.

Had a sexual experience I don’t want to forget but the guy in question rather would. It involved a lot of vodka and belgian beer.

I loved Belgium though and Brussels as a city and crave to return to the continent.

Due to my sexual liberation got hooked up with a man I called Hugh Jackman-Biscuitman because he looked like Hugh Jackman and worked in a biscuit factory.

During first sexual encounter got nervous and told a lot of pun jokes and laughed at them too much. He got nervous as no one had ever laughed during sex with him.

Figured this wasn’t working out as he was after a relationship and I was not. Decided to break things off.

During this time had a lot of pains in my kidney. Previous year informed me I had an overlarge right kidney. Begged the hospital to take me in but got sent away from A&E twice with pain killers.

One evening got into quite a state. I was in agony and working on my belly. Rooommates found me and declared it was ambulance time.

Got taken to hospital and informed I needed emergency surgery.

Turns out I got a UTI which had infected all the water stored in large kidney. Now here’s the kicker, this happened days after breaking it off with HJBM. Also I believe that the sexual proclivities were the thing that got me the UTI in the first place.

Got informed I would need more surgery to fix the kidney.

In this time I got told I should look into a new job. So I requested to join the Graduate Scheme at work.

A few months of nothing pass, got a bit more antsy about upcoming surgery.

Got the surgery and during this time discovered a few things. One) I do not fear needles any more. Two) I had an interview for the Graduate scheme.

I rather enjoyed my sick time. I was sleeping better and actually able to socialise. Issue was the stent I had in. Stents are not fun.

Stent was eventually removed.

Had interview were I was informed I was not good enough in any way but they’d give me a chance.

Cried a lot about that.

Said I’d do the graduate scheme.

Left being a CM after four years.

Moved flats after saying goodbye to one of my best friends.

In new flat spent one night there before going on holiday. That morning I rang the police due to there being a lot yelling coming from the above flat. Sounded like spousal abuse and that still bothers me. Was told I did the right thing. Hours later I was on an airplane.

Went to Turkey with the family. Which was rather interesting but spent most of the time very drunk and upset due to the amount of changes I had endured.

Argued, cried, got right on everyones nerves. Looking back I could have dealt with the situation better.

Got into an altercation with my dad which involved him grabbing my arms and pushing me against a wall. He stepped on my foot and broke my big toe nail. It became ingrowing and got filled with puss. Eventually cut the damn thing off. It’s still not the right colour.

I realise now, that although that really bothered me and no one reacted well I did some silly things. My dad has spent many days trying to apologise to me for it and I the same to him. It’s not exactly great but it happened.

My aunty Nora died. Was not able to attend the funeral due to new job. It was a weird time. The entire family was terribly upset. Especially my mum who had to organise the whole thing.

Working through my graduate scheme was informed I was not able to do the thing I was set to do. Now currently trying to learn a brand new language.

I love working in the office though and it’s causing me a lot of stress that I might lose this new position.

A boy on the graduate scheme asked me out. I said yes. We went on a date. We don’t have any sexual chemistry at all but I do like talking to him.

The day he asked me out I found out the precariousness of my position in the office. So got raucously drunk and ended up in a strip club (which is also how I dealt with my impending kidney operation).

Christmas came and went and here I am.

I also have smoked, drank and gone to way more strip clubs than I’m comfortable with. However I also did more and experienced more than I ever had. I’m exhausted. I doubt 2016 will have much more in the way of life changing experiences. I still love my pyeloplasty scars but let’s have less of that this new year.

Roll on 2016.
