Every so often I find myself sharing something from the Louvre that’s not really relevant to my interests but is just so cool I can’t figure out what to say about it other than “This is so cool!”

Anyway here’s a calligraphy album from...probably Iran, containing gorgeous examples of calligraphic arts; I think its purpose is purely aesthetic, but it’s very beautiful and apparently in exceptional condition, because albums like this could be damaged very easily. For scale, each of the “pages” in the album are about the size of an index card you’d use for making flashcards.

Enjoy this horrible cursed art I made of Sonic the Hedgehog as a historical recreation of medieval illumination art. It got a lot of positive feedback! Most of it was lovingly calling it the ugliest creation theyve ever seen and thats good enough for me! 👍 Judging interest on this as a print so lemme know your thoughts!

Materials: Fountain Pens, Paintbrushes, Grey-Blue Calligraphy ink, Wine calligraphy ink, prismacolor and copic markers, white fineliners and gold ink.
