I absolutely hate how some of the fandom make assumptions about what others in the fandom like and why they like it. I saw a ‘confession’ tonight, whilst obviously lamenting an underplayed and awesome aspect of character interaction - that of inter character friendships - then went on to assume that those that like the more hot smutty aspects of character interactions, OBVIOUSLY can’t possibly value the friendship aspects as well. Just because some like fucking, some like smut some fans like two characters, both canon and non canon going at it hammer and tongs does not mean they value the friendships aspect less. Because you know what? Some of the best relationships and hot fucking starts with a friendship. The gentle meeting of minds over common interests or a recognition that they LIKE each other. Slow burn it’s called. Liking both aspects of character interactions is not mutually exclusive. Base assumptions about what people like/dislike and why they like/dislike things (especially after NO interaction with these other fans) in this fandom are a constant annoyance to me. You don’t get to dictate my head canons or anyone else’s for that matter so stop the policing and go back to your own damn game. To add to that, unless you know the heart and mind of each individual fan, you couldn’t possibly know what they do or don’t value. You don’t know me, and even if you did it would likely take a while to understand why I like certain things and dislike others. So don’t presume that you know what I or anyone else 'values’.
