I’m still feeling pretty upset and angry about what happened in DA fandom today.
Death threats? Seriously? Over a fictional fucking character? That is disgusting beyond belief.
Also If you are trying to draw into debate about my favourite character and the shitty things they’ve done as a contrast to the shitty things your favourite character has done and expect me to take the bait so you can say how shitty I am for being a fan of my favourite character, then frankly -You can go fuck yourself with the rusty bargepole of my trash ship.
Grow the fuck up.
If someone is critical of your favourite character or your ship and you feel the need to send shitty anons or even death threats (yes you heard me right I heard about this today and am utterly sickened by it.)

So when you offer to write something for someone and you start writing it and then they ask you if someone else can write it, and tell you they respect you as a writer then the next post you see from them is how wonderful xyz writers are (and you aren't on the list) you have to wonder how genuine their act is. If you think my writing is shit just tell me don't fucking sugar coat it. I tried not to be upset about this but I am. Yeah you kind of made me feel like shit but I was too shocked to say otherwise. Fuck this fandom and its 'I'm a cinnamon roll' act.
One step too far fandom, too far. Of all the things I get upset about today. Perhaps it was the straw that broke the camels back. Or perhaps the tail that flipped me over out of the water and dropped me on my head. Either way, I feel, ugh, no more fandom, no more.

You know what else was similar to the Grey Wardens and the Nights Watch? Sharps Rifles (one of a series of fictional historical novels written by Bernard Cornwell about a soldier during Napoleonic wars AND acknowledged by Martin to be of influence for ASOIF) and out of historical and not fictional in this instance The French Foreign Legion was in the past known to take felons and Templar knights fighting during the crusades often sent their ‘poor knights’. Taking criminals, the poor and second sons of second sons into service is nothing new in history nor it seems in fiction.
If you think GRR Martin was the only writer out there to actually have this concept and adopt it for his own you need to read more widely.
