The Amazing Digital Circus pilot is absolutely incredible and has been on my mind since I’ve seen it. The animation is mind blowing and creative, I can’t wait to see what they do with it.

Part of the way that His Dark Materials works in the books is that in Northern Lights we are shown this fantastical world that is new and shiny to us but already so well established that has all these incredible conflicts that seem so far off and distant

And the books have to keep you in that mindset until Lyra meets Will and we see what lies beyond the wall between the worlds. So that when the books turn round and say ‘this is relevant to you, too. This is about your world’ it hits like a ton of bricks. It’s not subtle, it’s not slow. It’s all at once, with Lyra realising the scale of the stakes 

Basically - I’m not sure how much I like introducing our Oxford into the series so early on but I probably won’t know for sure if it’s a mistake until the whole show is over and done
