So, many posts have been made on the subject of Tumblr’s latest update that explain the situation, here and here.
I don’t know if this will work out, but here is a compilation of actions that can be taken to make Tumblr @staff take notice:
1. Feedback on the support form, just reblogging posts will not work except raise awareness, which is still important. So write a feedback, (you can find an example here that also highlights how this will impact minority groups, written by the wonderful @myownwholewildworld ), comment on the @changes Tumblr’s post, instagram, twitter. And don’t do it once! Come back to it in a few days, weeks. They expect us to stop complaining after a while, so let’s show them we mean it.
2. You can vote on this poll
4. And finally, a word is spreading to stop using Tumblr from March 18th to 20th. Hoping that a drop in activity will make staff understand that we are not happy and go back to the former setting.
Edit: this post gives more information on the blackout that are organised around Tumblr. I’ll be off from March 18th to 20th and also on April 1st. You can follow @blackout-strike for more informations
If you want to reblog art, in the meantime here is a PSA on the new etiquette regarding reblogging. (another one)
I’ll be doing that so you won’t find me for the next few days starting tomorrow. Discord is a way to contact me if necessary.
And I’ll be posting my writing on ao3 until there is a change in the settings.
Edit: all my fics are in private for the meantime. I don't feel comfortable not having control over my own writing.
