Effie liked to fill her time with life’s pleasures; the great and the small. She liked offering and then spilling coffee on those hanging around in her lobby waiting to see the mayor. They all squirmed and wanted to blame her but there was nothing they could do. Walking them in like bib-less toddlers was her favorite part, still patting at their stained freshly pressed shirts and she smiling politely contented by the misdeed. But she did have to clock out sometimes and with so many free hours in the day it was only natural to keep up with her most favorite hobby.
Murder.
It was something to do, kept her busy, active and engaged; there wasn’t much more one could want from a past-time. So she stood in the middle of South Dakotan wilds with her ax in hand ready to get to work. A rustle was a hamper to her excitement and she frowned before turning on her heel, wondering why she had been disturbed at the moment enjoyable part. “He’s not yours, is he?” Effie offered a playful wink to the intruder before glancing back to bound stranger struggling to keep himself conscious against an aged tree. “I mean if he is, I’d probably say something poetic and get to going.”
