Choosing Shivgange over Chikballarpur turned out to be a dreadful decision for the morning. Its not at all like that Shivgange is a bad place, its just our decision was unfavourable.
Having eaten a light dinner on the Saturday eve, we both headed to our place and were doing our regular chores besides chatting with each other. It was around 4 in the morning when we decided for a short bike trip of around 60kms. After a quick research, we had two options: Shivgange and Chikballarpur.
We started from our place at around 5 a.m. feeling ravenously hungry. We hunted for some eatery to open up by that time but we could just get disappointment. Hoping to fill our tummies, we started our journey to Shivgange. On the lookout for food, we covered the distance of 50kms and still could not find anything solid and filling. The oreo packet which my friend got could only save us from the hunger pangs.
When we arrived at the place at 6:30a.m., none of the shops were open, though some were preparing to open it up for their customers. We parked our bike with a nominal parking fee. On enquiring about how far the temple is and how much time it would take, the guy at the parking along with a localite, said that it is very easy trek and you could do it easily. The sweet young woman at the corner shop asked us for our helmets and kept them at her shop. After sipping some water, we set out our foot on to the temple.
