A reminder that the new LP drops on June 30th on Bandcamp, YouTube, and SoundCloud. The LP will hit Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital retailers late July 2017. The version that will release in late July will include a new track to make up for it not releasing everywhere at once.

Pre-Order Information

Pre-orders begin on Friday, June 23rd, 2017. Pre-ordering will done exclusively through Bandcamp. Pre-ordering via Bandcamp will give you the exclusive Birthday Edition of the LP which includes two exclusive bonus tracks as well as some other fun extras. After Hours - Darker, Faster, Stronger: Driven

Looking at every song that I've written for After Hours, I've noticed that I've accomplished my goal. That goal was to successfully set a theme. Going through every verse, chorus, breakdown, intro, outro, and instrumental solo made me realize how emotionally driven these songs are. This is a good thing for me as a musician to create music that not only expresses myself but also sets a serious tone to every listener.

Huge Shmandarin Announcement Regarding After Hours

Earlier this evening I had to make some important decisions regarding the future of Shmandarin. Back in the fall of 2012, I had everything planned out for the release of After Hours including singles, the album release date, and promoting the album. However, back in early December 2012, my Mac died. I didn't plan for something like this to happen. Even though all the files are safely kept in the hard drive of it, I don't have access to them until I get my replacement Mac. Due to this event I missed deadlines of recording the final two singles for After Hours, which were originally planned for an early January release and a mid February release, respectively. Now I've come to the difficult decision of whether to postpone anything or remove it in order to keep the March 2013 album release alive. The second single, "Jackhammer (feat. Chuckie Chinn)," is being delayed until further notice. I have no clue on a new release date but it'll hopefully be soon. The final single, "Late Nights (feat. Evan McCollum)," is also being delayed. I'm sorry for any inconveniece this may have caused. Please have a happy New Year.

The all-new Shmandarin

Hello, everyone! Shmandy here and on behalf of everyone involved in the production of the mixtape, we hope everyone’s enjoying Welcome to the Genius Bar so far. It’s been nearly a month since it dropped and I could not be any happier that people are enjoying the songs I’ve made. It’s been an amazing ride making this from the writing stages all the way to the mixing stages. No one thought that I would create a mixtape, no one thought that I would ever have a song on iTunes, and no one ever thought they would be good. With the help of my friends, we proved them all wrong.

So, today, I want to announce something awesome. First off I’m going to go off a tangent here and say that if you haven’t heard already, Josh Davis/J-Smooth is working on his third mixtape. It’s titled “Youth” and it currently doesn’t have a set release date yet. Both “Loveseat” and “Mahalo” have some awesome songs in them so before “Youth” drops, you might want to catch up on some listening. Alright, so back to the other big news.

Today, I’m announcing that I am currently working on some new material. I’ve been exploring deeper into the different genres that you’ve heard in Genius Bar. For example, I’m thinking about staying close to pop and hip-hop but, I want to try out going further into rock and alternative rock. But, you never know. With that in mind, I’m announcing that I am going to release a sequel/follow up mixtape to Genius Bar. The current tentative title is “Genius Bar 2” and it will be released anywhere between January 2013 to April 2013.

The only concrete info I can give you at this point is that there will be at least 2 iTunes singles from Genius Bar 2. One of them will be called “Penthouse” and it will feature Tyler Moten/T-Mo as a guest artist. There are no planned release dates yet but, I would like to have them both released by a month before GB2 drops. Also, production will be strictly limited to both J-Smooth and I co-producing the tape. I plan to have 12 tracks on the standard edition (GB2XSE) and 16 tracks on the deluxe edition (GB2XDX).

That’s all for GB2 info for now. One more thing… As previosly announced, “Zero to Hero (The Official JFK Soccer Theme Song)”, will be released this summer and it will be included as a bonus track on the Genius Bar 2 deluxe edition.
