One of the worst quirks that came with his mutation was the fact that he could smell the pheromones of the people around him. Usually it wasn’t a problem, but his bird-like physiology always wanted him to stay informed of other people’s emotions without him having to ask. Sometimes it was a blessing, but other-times it was most definitely a curse.
Right now, he’d consider it neither. He was the one of the few people in the area, half hidden behind warm neon lights and rubble. none of them dared approach him, possibly thinking he was the angel of death, ready to take their lives. Their scents were fleeting at best, and Warren could assess them as fear.
However, he smelled someone familiar in the area. Someone who he could’ve sworn did not exist in this wretched word. For a moment he briefly forgets there are robots and machine out here hunting him and everyone around him. But he still lunges at a not so familiar woman, who smelled like someone he used to know.
“Alison?”
Kwannon froze in fear at seeing the hulking monstrosity over the city. It bellowed and screamed, larger than anything she’d ever seen before. Hundreds, if not thousands, of smaller creatures swarmed around it, as if they were egging it on. Like sparrows chasing an invasive crow. Except for the fact that they seemed to be on the same side. What echo was this from? In her isolation, she’d barely kept abreast of the news, preferring to remain as hidden as possible against those who might be hunting her. A hand curled around her shoulder and she turned to come face-to-face with one of this chitinous characters. The spear in hand looked cruel, ready to sever her in half if she didn’t give it what it wanted. A swift kick to its face yielded less than an effective result. It growled and snarled in response, its clawed hands gripping the shaft of its weapon. “ああ、くそ...” She ducked and slid between its legs to get away, waving to the blonde that it was better to get out of here.

“I wasn’t trying to pull anything or hurt anyone.” The telepath’s hands were raised high over her head. The promise of coffee had been a great one, and she’d even agreed to stay the night in the dingy hotel just for a few days. Only someone had caught wind as to who and what she truly was. A short venture to the breakfast room was met with hostility, people armed with brooms and flashlights and whatever else they could get their hands on. It wouldn’t take much to easily dispatch them, but that would be proving their point, wouldn’t it? “I just want some damn coffee.”
To the Dogs (Dazzler)
@shockandawesome reblogged from here:
The light hostility was met with a flash of pink around her eyes before Betsy noticed the woman dissolve into pain. They hadn’t bounced into each other that hard, had they? The bright colour quickly blipped away, returning them to shadows and the dim glow of the hotdog cart’s flashlight. “None of my business, but you don’t look very good. Do you need a hospital? Someone to call?” Not that there would be any cellphone signal in the quarantine zone. And she’d left her radio. Great. Instead of waiting for an answer, the ninja’s arm hooked around the other’s and gently guided her towards the nearest bench to sit. “... at least your ribs aren’t broken,” she whispered knowingly with an offered smile.

aliWhen Piotr realized what was happening, it was too late. Hungry. Eat him. No. Her!
NO!
FEED!
Piotr walked as naturally as he could out of the mansion, claiming he needed some fresh air away from the party. Everything had been going fine, he’d had a pleasant chat with Sam when Emma had butted in, sending Sam’s... spider. Or whatever it was. The commotion, and perhaps Sam being outed for that, had made his own spider-friend upset. Now it wouldn’t shut up about how hungry it was. Piotr wanted nothing more than to go to the table and demolish all the food there but he didn’t want Emma, or anyone else for that matter, to learn what was going on inside him.
In the alley on the side of the mansion, Piotr was doubled over, trying so hard to stay in control. He could feel the slithering just under his metal skin. FEED! Or we will feed!!
He could feel every place it slithered out, first at his arms, then up around his head like some sort of gross hood. “STOP!” Piotr roared, stumbling back against the brick of the building next door, big metal fist punching it in frustration, fist hitting the concrete with a loud crack. He could feel it slithering back and he took in a few big breaths to steady himself. When he turned to look down the alley he felt frozen in a mixture of shame and embarrassment. He recognized her immediately, the mutant who had helped during the fight. Dazzler -- Ali, he was almost sure her name was. “I’m sorry! Please don’t be frightened -- It’s fine,” Was it? “It’s temporary.” Was it? “It’s under control,” Was it?

In another life, Warren could have been a scientist. If he applied his self at school, and actually went to college classes instead of spending a semester cage fighting in Europe. It wasn’t something he regretted per say, but a lot of times during conversations lately he felt lost, and out of touch. He felt like a father at a beauty pageant sometimes.
However only recently, due to the dulling electricity and the fear of the generators going out had caused the few neurons that Warren didn’t have dedicated to the decadence of life to spark in his head, and produce a coherent thought. He approached Alison with a somewhat confident look on his face.
The rain had become heavier lately, taking away the chances of solar electricity, but any type of light should work for it, and his ingenious idea was using Ali had the light force, but he wasn’t sure how to pull it off. All they needed was some noise, and two fluffy white wings with a span of thirty feet flapping would cause a lot of noise. All he needed was her opinion.
‘Do you have a minute? I think I have a solution to the energy problem we might have soon.’
