This scene is inspired by "The Little Mermaid " Originally published in 1837 by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen
I’m basing this moment on the one where Ariel makes a deal with Ursula. I think it’ll be a similar situation here with Blurr, when he exchanges his voice for mods and a chance to be added to the racing competition.
But anyway, there’s a small story for this. And don’t get used to it! XD This might be the only time you’ll ever read something like this from me
Within the dark cavern laboratory thrummed with the low, constant hum of hidden machinery. Bioluminescent crystals cast faint, sickly violet light across jagged walls and scattered data terminals. Blurr hung suspended high above the cold rocky floor, his frame thoroughly entangled in Shockwave’s extendable treaded appendages.
The segmented, flexible treads had coiled and woven themselves tightly around his arms, legs, and torso, lifting him with effortless mechanical precision. He couldn’t see the face -only the single glowing red orb somewhere in the upper shadows and the two enormous claws that dominated his entire field of vision.
One claw was wrapped firmly around his waist, the broad, sharp digits completely engulfing his midsection and holding him in place like he weighed nothing. The other claw hovered near his faceplate, it's movements slow and deliberate as it gestured.
Shockwave’s voice emerged from the darkness- calm, flat, echoing slightly off the cavern walls.
“So… you wish to become a racer.”
Blurr’s voice came out small and timid, strained by the treads constricting his frame.
“Y-yes…”
“Then a payment is required.”
Blurr’s optics widened. He tried to shift in the grip, but the treads only tightened in warning.
“B-but I don’t have any credits, or—”
“I am not interested in credits,” Shockwave interrupted smoothly. The hovering claw extended a digit and pointed directly at Blurr’s throat, the tip stopping just short where his voice box should be.
“That rapid, overclocked little audio emitter of yours that you dub a vocalizer will suffice..."
Blurr’s gaze locked onto the claw. He could feel the digit’s tip in the air near his neck. His spark pulsed harder than it should have against his chest plates.
He gulped.
Shockwave continued without pause, the claw around his waist giving a possessive squeeze.
“In exchange, I will grant you the frame modifications required to compete at the highest levels. Optimized pedes. Enhanced speed systems beyond anything a courier could achieve.
As I am… proficient with such networks, I can also ensure your designation is added to the official racer registry. No questions. No scrutiny. You will have your chance at the big leagues.”
The digit remained pointed at him for a long moment.
“However,” Shockwave went on, tone never shifting from calm logic, “there is one condition if you wish to retain this new form and status permanently. You must secure a spark-mate from among those who inhabit the race field. Not merely any bond... a true sparkmerge born of genuine affection. Should you fail to achieve this by the conclusion of the racing season… your frame, your spark, and everything I have granted you will belong to me.”
The words hung in the air between them. The only sounds were the quiet whir of the treads and the distant drip of energon.
Blurr trembled in the grip. His mouth opened, then closed. He looked at the claw near his face, then down at the one wrapped so completely around his waist. Desperation warred with fear across his faceplates.
“…I agree,” he whispered.
The claw near his throat retracted slightly. Shockwave’s voice remained perfectly even.
“Very well. An acceptable agreement has been established. Now then...”
The treaded coils around Blurr’s frame shifted with a soft mechanical rasp, preparing to lower him toward the waiting lab equipment below. The single optic in the darkness flared brighter for a brief moment.
Spoiler alert: Blurr still falls in love with Longarm, who works in the racing fields (as either a manager or a custodian— I haven’t decided yet). Either way, they fall in love… but by the end, Blurr still belongs to Shockwave. :)
and now we're finishing our shockblurr week~ thank y'all for participating, it's important for me to know that you're interested in my ideas and beloved pairing🫶🏻💜💙
