To continue my adventures on Day 2 of Austin Fashion Week, I attended Gift of Style a fashion mixer and clothes drive benefitting Austin's Dress for Success! The weather was perfect, sunny with a slight breeze. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Friday evening than mingling at a rooftop lounge to support an organization that empowers women.
I caught up with friend, makeup artist & hairstylist, Amanda who was looking hot in a black and white print sheer top with a neon yellow bra underneath and black leather pants. We touched base on upcoming Fashion events. She introduced me to the photographer of the event, Jess, of FeNo 3 Photography who gave me a really cool vibe.
I worked my way around the rooftop and met the organizers of the event Christina and Shiraz. Christina is a natural beauty who models and agreed to a mini-shoot with me and my friend Beatriz. We had to take advantage of the golden hour! Shiraz and I conversed about an upcoming fashion event in the works for this summer. I am already getting excited for it!
As the evening progressed, I saw all kinds of friends and even ran into an old classmate from my sewing class at Austin School of Fashion Design! It was no surprise that I took a real liking to the gals from Dress for Success. They were sitting next to the check-in where large boxes were filled with donated clothes. I really enjoy meeting strong women who work to build up other women. We shared many laughs well into the night. Many new friends were made, and I even met one of my neighbors! A Friday filled with fashion and fun? It was a perfect evening out on the Austin Fashion Scene. Yes, indeed!
