Seducing the famous ‘Iron Man’ had been easier than Michael had been expecting. If he was lucky, infiltrating the Avengers would go as swimmingly. His initial plan had been to try for the infamous Natasha Romanoff, but after witnessing the woman in the act, he had promptly changed his mind. Barton was no option, and Banner was too dangerous to provoke. He didn’t doubt he could put an end to the beast, were he to transform, but the archangel didn’t like to test his luck. That only left Stark and the supposed ‘national treasure’ Steve Rogers, and when he’d uncovered details of Tony’s promiscuity, well that made the choice clear, didn’t it?
And all he’d had to do was bat his eyelashes, make a few suggestive comments and pretend to be attracted to that ego of his. Getting inside Stark’s home had been the first step. He needed to know what defences the place had, if any, and while he wasn’t exactly tech savvy, he needed time to examine JARVIS as best he could. What skill and precisions couldn’t do, his grace could. In theory, at least.
He was staying the night when he finally decided to make his move. Tony was asleep – the archangel had made sure to wear the human out that night in bed; he couldn’t carry out his plan if Tony woke up in the middle of it – and Michael carefully rose from his position on the bed. It was in moments like this that he scoped the house, unseen and undetected (he hoped) and for the most part, he had a clear enough mental image of the place’s layout. All he had to do was put JARVIS out of action.
He slipped into Tony’s lab with little more than a flap of his wings, eyes surveying his surroundings. It wasn’t ideal – JARVIS didn’t seem to be based in the lab, but it was where Michael had the best access to the AI – but he would have to make do. He knew the AI was in Stark’s numerous suits, but the archangel had hoped that with the bulk of it out of action, the suits wouldn’t be capable of powering themselves up. The archangel watched as the interface spread out around him, grace pooling on his fingertips and seeping out into the air like smoke. It was a crude method, and he knew its effects wouldn’t last long, but as his grace wormed its way into JARVIS’ system, the voice hanging in the air around him began to warp, before falling silent. Perfect.
With JARVIS out of commission, all that was left was to bring down the famed Iron Man himself. So Michael made his way back up to the bedroom they’d been sharing, closing the door behind him. Tony was still asleep, if the steady rise and fall of his chest was anything to go by, the faint blue light coming from the reactor in his chest casting a glow across the room. The archangel had already positioned a chair in the corner of the room, all that was left to get Tony into it. He lifted the other male up out of the bed, the skin to skin contact ensuring the human stayed unconscious long enough for Michael to tie him to the chair.
