This week it's back Friday, and in many places the sales have already begun! It's one the biggest consumer weekend of the year and it's impacts are massive. . . 🏷Increased plastic pollution - Currently only 9% of all plastic ever produced has been recycled. The stuff bought on black Friday will come in copious amounts of plastic. . .🏷Uneccessary stuff - 1 in 10 people buy stuff they will never use and 1 in 5 buy stuff they already own! So much stuff from black Friday will just end up in charity shops or landfill... And electronics, everyone's fave black Friday purchase, have a huge carbon footprint to make . .🏷Spikes in air pollution -Delivery vans after the black Friday weekend actually cause spikes in air pollution around the UK due to the increased traffic . .Even free stuff has a price, so if you are going to shop this black Friday then please #shopethicalinstead and support ethical, sustainable, small, and local businesses this black Friday.
