I AM STL Fashion - I’ve been modeling for 6 years in St. Louis. I had a dream of being a model that began around end of middle school/beginning of high school. I had this dream that part of me believed I could achieve, but another part couldn’t see actually happening. There were struggles and discouragement along the way. One of my exes didn’t want me modeling because he didn’t want other guys seeing me. Another ex was jealous of my modeling because it took time away from him so I canceled some of my opportunities to make him happy. I posted my senior photos in a Facebook group since that was all I had then. Some woman said “Sorry not photogenic enough.” I kept pressing on anyway to pursue my dream. I managed to find my way into the local modeling industry. Some people didn’t believe in me in the beginning. I worked with an exceptional photographer and someone asked him “Why do you work with her?” He replied that he saw potential in me. After that I soared. My confidence and self esteem went up more than I ever thought it would. I’m so much happier and more secure. I met so many amazing photographers, models, fashion designers, hair and makeup artists, and so many other industry professionals. Some of these people have become some of my best friends. They encourage, support, and love me through everything, including when I’m getting hate on the internet. I’ve been published in over 58 magazines, 7 of which I was on the cover of, 21 music videos, 14 fashion shows, newspapers and articles including @dailymail, billboards, album cover, shows (including one I won and hosted), movies, films, etc. The St. Louis fashion industry has truly changed my life.
