[MHA-Shora headcanons:

She’s been a student worker at the library since her second semester at the school.

She’s still very much justice minded. More than once Aya has had to send her to the sensory room to calm down because she was one word away from getting the broom and beating some bully up with it.

Shora actually has quite a few friends among the different “Departments”.

Her older brother is in the military. She worries about him constantly.

[MHA Verse: There’s a total of three librarians employed full time - the “head” librarian, or the director, and two ground level librarians. The other librarian is more in information gathering/works more in the classrooms, so Aya is often in charge of the physical space.

Aya also has one student worker that helps out. And some of you may find her familiar.

A young girl with pitch-black hair and ice-blue eyes who’s in the General Education Division of the school - class 2-D. Her Quirk manifested late, and until recent years many thought her Quirkless.

Shora Melothari is a student worker in Aya’s library. Her Quirk is “liquid feelings” - meaning when she makes a drink, she can infuse her feelings and wishes into it. Typically her medium is tea - this is extended into a sort of rudimentary healing of sorts. Able to help minor things such take ones mind off pain, help with headaches, calm people down, etc.]

[Why am I seriously considering this this is a bad idea but:

Shora never had plans beyond the Inquisition. She couldn’t go back to her clan, not as a Spirit Healer, and as much as she loved her found-brother Cullen, she couldn’t just follow him like a lost Mabari. But even before the final battle Shora can see her options are slim, especially with a bad leg like she has.

It’s during the final battle it all shifts. When Haven explodes into rifts, she’s brought along with the others as a healer. During the chaos, she’s pulled into a rift and into the Fade. And when she fights her way out, it’s not onto Thedas she lands, but a strange unknown land full of shem-like creatures calling themselves “demons”.

She has trouble wrapping her head around any of it, more so than even Aya would. At least she can still hear Hope, the spirit she works with... That’s the only thing that tells her this is no Fade Dream.]

[Concept, inspired by the dollmaker above - Shora, had she been captured during the Blight as a child and sold to Tevinter like so many other of her family in Denerim. Split apart from her parents, Shora was picked up by a wealthy family who treated their slaves in two, very different ways: they had their blood slaves, and their beauty slaves. 

Blood slaves did manual labor, the cooking, the cleaning, the fighting - they were also the blood sacrifices for the family’s mages. Beauty slaves had (technically) one purpose: to act as pretty decoration, entertainment, and other such roles. Shora was trained as a dancer until her magic manifested. When it did, the family gave her a higher place of honor as the personal handmaiden to the family’s oldest daughter - meant to be a companion and friend.

The daughter loves to dress Shora up in silks from Antiva and pretty gold. Shora hardly remembers her life before slavery, and only gets a taste of freedom when she ends up at the Inquisiton purely by chance - the daughter heard about the Conclave and was curious, wanting to “see how the barbaric mages of the South fought for their freedom”. Shora’s master was killed at the Conclave, leaving Shora without direction.]

[If Shora were to ever get a dog, she’d probably train it as a mix of a guard dog and a sort of therapy dog. A protector, gentle with kids, with a calm bedside doggy manner.

She’d name it Harea if a girl, Hareas if a boy -  “ one who removes fear” in Elvhen.]

[Shora, having been raised Fereldan, loves dogs. While she never owned any herself, there was a few strays that lived in the Alienage that Shora used to help take care of, play with, etc. She would love to have a dog again - the Dalish don’t exactly keep animals aside from the halla.]

[I’ve talked about what would happen if Shora’s magic had manifested at a ‘normal’ age, as a young child. How she would have been taken to the Circle at Kinloch and eventually made tranquil. Should she survive the events of the Blight, she would eventually find her way to the Inquisition. A certain elf by the name Alana Surana would take her there after the circles fall and rumors of a mage-kind Herald begin to circle.

As a tranquil, she is a skilled researcher, who still has a preference for medicine-related research. This is her in Inquisition, with long hair b/c why would a Tranquil bother to cut it? Surana helps care for her, and keeps Shora clear of a certain Commander.

I wonder if Cole could break Tranquility...]

[Headcanon relating to what I wrote last night (LINK)

Shora did almost immediately tell Solas, as he is the resident Fade Expert. Once establishing that she hadn’t just willingly possessed herself with a demon, she then reaches out to any other Spirit Healers the Inquisition has, if they have any.

I actually don’t know when she’d tell Cullen or any of the other Inner Circle. I’d say Dorian, maybe, if she didn’t lowkey hate him/be terrified of him.]
