Trouble sleeping.
Keith’s POV
It's 3am in the morning when Keith wakes up. He wasn't meant to be awake. It wasn't time yet but now he can't go back to sleep. He stares at the ceiling. Focusing on everything and nothing. His mind racing as he thinks about Shiro, how his life has been these past few years and how happy he has been. A soft snore breaks him out of his reverie, alerting him of the beautiful man sleeping next to him. Takashi Shirogane. A beautiful man. More than that. His best friend in life. His husband. The love of his life.
He stares at Shiro in the darkness. The strips of moonlight entering the room falling on his face and making Shiro look ethereal. Strands of Shiro's hair were all over his face, his mouth was slightly open as he snores softly. Just staring at him sound asleep and looking so peaceful made keith's heart beat unevenly, his stomach filling with butterflies.
Gently, he smoothens the strands out and away from Shiro's face. Tracing his brow bone, cheekbones, nose and lips over and over committing them to memory till Shiro starts to stir but doesn't wake up. At that, Keith leaves the bed to make some tea.
Arms wrap around his waist as he's stirring the tea. Kisses left on his neck as a rough voice asks,"Why did you leave? I could have helped you go back to sleep." Keith turns in his lovers arms and gives him a peck on the lips before replying,"You had a long day yesterday, I wanted you to get some rest."
Slowly, with a Shiro sized koala hanging onto him from behind, Keith walks to the balcony. There, he leads them to the bench and Shiro immediately lays on his lap. Keith tenderly cards his hands through shiro's hair effectively putting him to sleep while Keith reads a book and waits for the sunrise. Most times, Keith would usually find himself in his bed the next time he wakes up with no memory of ever leaving the bench and the warm body of his husband wrapped around him.
