Yep! It’s going down! Sweatin it out! Live video posted on YT earlier. Check it out. The Vandal is receiving the 5.3 from my old stolen ‘84 C10. That should pep it up a little. The 5.3 has ported & milled .030” 862 heads with 2” LS1 intake valves, LS6 Cam and PAC 1218 valve springs. That’s all that I can remember that I did to it at this time. Here they are! I got in touch with @oewheels for a set of new shiny 20x9 ~'14 GMC replica wheels in aluminum & black to give the project a new look. This is my fifth set of wheels from OEWheels in the past 12 years, if that tells you anything. I love their products and I haven't found a better price anywhere else. You can get all types of factory replica wheels in a variety of finishes & sizes that the factory never offered. Their prices are roughly 1/3 of what the dealership would charge you. Cant beat it! They also offer a few other designs that aren't factory replica wheels, but my focus was always on the replicas. I'm at my desk working on a new video to show the wheels now. Stand by! Pic 2 Got a couple more pics of the "Vandal" project on our Mother's Day trip to Corpus Christi last weekend. Luckily the sand was packed tight enough for me to get the peg-leg truck onto the beach with no problems. The Vandal looks much better with that lower valence in its front bumper now. The bumper is dented up and needs to be replaced, but this'll work for now. Gathering materials to make a C-Notch on the Vandal. Big thank you to my father-in-law Billy and his buddy Jimmy for hooking me up with this thick chunk of 6" pipe. I had cut 4.25" off of the rear of the Vandal's frame ends to allow the short bed to sit all the way down. That 4.25" was the exact amount to cut off all of the bumper mounts. Ha! Yay! So, today I drilled the 4 holes in each frame rail to be able to mount the bumper bracket. One of those four mounting holes was actually the top reward rivet of the rear shackle bracket on the frame. Just removing that rivet did the job for that bolt hole. That used $40 SnapOn air hammer worked great for removing the rivet after cutting a line down the rivet head with a 4.5" angle grinder. There was also a square cut out of the bottom lip of the original frame end. Not sure why it was there, but I went ahead and did the same to the new frame ends. I pushed hard today to make progress on the Vandal in the rain, so I've been slacking on the pics. Let me catch you up. - Second row bed mounts are welded in! - 3rd & 4th Row bed mount holes are drilled! - Exhaust is trimmed 14" and welded back on! - The good original fuel pump from the Vandal tank replaced the bad short bed fuel pump! So of course I was like a kid on Christmas and couldn't wait. So I set off on a test drive. 45 minute drive, ~30 miles, to see my wife. It road smooth as could be and drove straight. I aimed to hit every pot hole that I could, one being too way large for any car and I should have skipped that one. lol All seems good so far. Next will be to pull the bed to mount the bumper, mount the tow hitch, paint the frame, trim the brake line, install limited slip and possibly a c-notch.
