23: Does your OC tend to hide something about their personality/essence when meeting new people? If yes, what? - Sho'tase
Sho’tase is not great at hiding parts of her personality. She’s a very earnest person and would think that was a little bit deceitful, so what you get is pretty much what you get. However, she does try to perpetually be kind to strangers or new people in the Sunguard. She hides any irritation or annoyance because she knows she’s probably jumping to conclusions and doesn’t want to judge anyone off a specific poor first impression.
Eldriana is pansexual and aromantic, with a slight preference to men. It’s very slight, though; she has quite a few ladies who make her swoon.
👠 What was my muse’s last serious relationship like?
Sho’tase had a rather sad relationship with a guy who is no longer in the Sunguard. She was quite in love and he mostly enjoyed the relationship for the sex. :( He broke up with her, then tried to get back together -- she, of course, said ABSOLUTELY NOT.
💑 What are my muse’s requirements for a potential partner?
Eldriana requires, first and foremost, that you amuse her in some way. People who can keep up with her intellectually are preferred over people who are dull -- but it’s not always a requirement, more of a preference. Then, she demands a certain level of understanding and trust between her, and them; she doesn’t do lying about sexual preferences or anything. But she really has been like “this man makes me laugh, I want to fuck him.”
“Small and sharp, small and sharp. I’d prefer a bigger woman, perhaps? But not AWFUL to look at. I can certainly understand why people might moon, hm?”
FRIENDSHIP LEVEL: 💔
“I only really know her within the realm of the Sunguard. And I fully intend to keep it that way. She seems nosy as fuck with all those questions she asks me, I’d hate to have her that close to my personal business.”
SEXUAL DESIRE: 💗💗
“I feel like she’d be particularly....mmm....angry in bed?”
ROMANTIC INTENT: 💔
“No thanks~”
Sho on Lovete
VISUAL ATTRACTIVENESS: 💗💗💗💗💗
“Oh, she’s....ah, well. A very lovely woman. And -- I prefer women, overall, and she’s just...um. Very, very lovely.”
FRIENDSHIP LEVEL: 💗💗
“I would not presume to consider her a GOOD friend -- we’ve only spoken a handful of times, but I would like to get to how her better.”
SEXUAL DESIRE: 💗💗💗💗💗
“Well....um.Yes!”
ROMANTIC INTENT: 💔
“I have a romantic partner. And I don’t think she’d appreciate it if I felt that way about her.”
♨ Pheromones - Who might your muse have an uncontrollable attraction to? | ☆ Dreaming - What thoughts about another person keep them up at night? THE PAL OF GALS SHO'TASE
Sho’tase - Oh it’s Velianor; she may have stopped talking about her crush on Veli but the feelings are very much still THERE, just...quiet....for now. For now.
Dreaming - Lyadre. Sho’tase’s first lover was - is! - a remarkably kind woman, and often Sho lays awake hoping that she’s alright and wondering what she’s up to! They write each other often but it doesn’t make up for the distance.
The official report was that she was missing in action. At least, that was the whisper that went round Light’s Hope Chapel, the crypts filled with soft murmuring. Sho’tase had left in the wake of a disagreement with a human paladin over the source of the Light -- her Light, strange and unusual as it was, coming from no deified source that they could pinpoint, only a general knowledge that it was not correct in the slightest. Sho’tase could not feel the holy presence surrounding Light’s Hope; it was a skill that remained mute to her, and although the paladin had had suspicions that her own holy magic might come from something less ethereal than the na’aru, she had not enjoyed another paladin pointing it out so blandly. While Sho’tase thought that her mother’s warning - that Dawngaze children could not sense or use magic like other Sin’dorei - had been nothing but a fairy tale, it turned out that they had been painfully true. Whatever magic she was using, Sho’tase did not draw it from within herself.
It seemed that assimilation did not necessarily mean that everyone would enjoy the togetherness of the Silver Hand as much as Sho’tase had wanted to initially. Not a real paladin. Aberration. The words had followed her as she left the hall, accompanied by human laughter. Some champion, the fabled next Highlord of the Silver Hand had located the Ashbringer from its final resting place and required able-bodied paladins to assist them. Sho’tase had volunteered readily. Anything to escape the laughter of her new peers. The woman mounted Quaztol without a second thought, flying off to the Broken Shore and holding back her tears.
At least, those were the reported facts -- it had been almost a day since Lyadre had picked herself out of the soft earth and whispers of Val’sharah to find her friend, and so far no one could lay eyes on her. Not even her body could be found amongst those brought back to Light’s Hope after the onslaught of demons. It was as if the woman had been there, and then suddenly not there at all -- and that was the most distressing fact. It made the druid, Sho’tase’s former lover, incredibly concerned.
Wrapping herself in the feathers and claws of her order, the druid soared across the clouded sky over the Broken Shore, cawing in frustration. Not even the giant fire bird so close at Sho’tase’s side could be found, which seemed unusual. Lyadre sent her magic out towards the ground below, searching for any of the divine fire that made up Quaztol, to no avail. The bird had vanished too -- no pile of ashes from resurrection, no small phoenix. Not even a feather of flame to guide her path.
The demons were too numerous to give the paladin the thorough search she deserved, and Lyadre’s heart cried for the fact that her dearest of friends would potentially be lost forever to the ravages of the Legion. But she could not risk her own life to dig through every rock, overturn every inch of soil. And so the druid turned wing and flew back to Val’sharah, footsteps heavy as she entered the Dreamgrove, already calling for pen and paper to write to two names she had heard so many times, but never seen in person.
Friends,
You have not met me prior to this, but I assure you that I am a trusted friend of our mutual acquaintance, Sho’tase Dawngaze, of the Sunguard. You both likely know that Sho’tase had agreed to accompany the Highlord of Light’s Hope on their mission to recover the Ashbringer from where it had tragically fallen during the siege on the Broken Shore.
Unfortunately, Sho’tase has not been heard from in the past days since the demise of several paladins on the Shore. There are rumors that she was incredibly upset upon treading into battle, but you know her as well as I: there is no doubt in mind mind that Sho’tase would not have been easily dissuaded by such a thing, and I do not think she is so easily killed at the hands of the demons. Evidence seems to back up this assertation, as we have seen neither Sho’tase - her remains or her whole body - or her bird Quaztol since the assault.
I will keep you informed if I find more. Hopefully you would think to do the same. Although we may serve different factions, our interest is a common one.
22nd: Write a fragment of a story that largely or slightly concerns a popular song that tells a good story. You might consider starting by summarizing the song's narrative in prose in your own words, which you may then integrate or borrow from at will. Don't be afraid to snatch up lyrical turns of phrase, either. Consider including a link to the song that inspired you.

The sight of the man she had once loved groveling in front of her had caused the paladin -- no, not a paladin yet, just a confused warrior -- to fill with disgust.
A month. A month of nothing but whispers behind her back about the man’s new lover -- so much slimmer than the tall and sturdy redhead, so much more delicate. Noble, even; the word soured on her tongue at the thought of such pretty words reduced to drivel. Their fight had stretched weeks -- and Sho’tase had never, in all one hundred and thirty two years that she had lived so far, seen someone look so pitiful when he was on her knees in front of her.
“I made a mistake--”
“You did.” She wasn’t going to give him the benefit of her pity because she wasn’t interested in listening to it. He had known, deliberately, that his words would hurt her -- and yet had used them anyway. And now he had to gall to come back and request that she take his hand, be his bride…?
“I’ve changed-- trust me--”
“Absolutely not…!” She took a step back and his face paled, as he realized that she meant what she said with no uncertainty between them. “We are never, ever getting back together!”
“You said you loved me! I still love you, and...”
“I did, before you were an ass…! I wish you luck, I do, but...we are never getting back together. Ever. This is exhausting. I’m sorry.” She wasn’t sorry. She was simply too polite for her own good.
Sho’tase left him on his knees as she returned to Silvermoon, and didn’t look back.
9th: How does your character feel about dancing? Are they good at it? bad at it? Does their skill color their perceptions of the activity?
@starcunning @treyu @ocarina-of-what for the mentions!
---
She danced with all of her lovers at one point or another. Even those who had not become lovers in truth -- who had been mere dalliances, passing flirtations at parties. Even those lovers who had not turned out so kind in the end had once been a breathless, timeless sway to music that sometimes only the two of them could hear.
Sho’tase had heard whispers in the Dawnspire as she went about her duties -- whispers of a gala, a ball of some sort that perhaps would take place in the near future. The thought had been enticing. Although Sho’tase did not have much experience or training in the activity herself, all of her partners had always been willing to accommodate -- for which she was always grateful. The thought of one particular paladin asking her to dance stilled her quill. Ink blots fell from still utensil to the parchment below without the woman ever noticing. Light fel eyes were trained on something a mind’s eye away.
Maybe he’d ask...but what if he doesn’t? Is it alright to ask him? Or is there some sort of...noble rule, now that I’m no longer free to do what I wish without land attached…? I should ask Velianor...
The missive was ruined as Sho’tase daydreamed the day away: about the gentle brush of silks as bodies pressed close, and about one particular man asking her to dance for the rest of the evening.
Now that I’m feeling better, could we I please go to Kalimdor like I suggested? I promise I will not take a single suit of armor, and that I will stop frequently for rests. You are more than welcome to I would like you I would be honored if you would accompany me to my former home, if your work can spare you. There are several varieties of plant that grow near the forests of Ashenvale that I would enjoy showing you.
