Umbrella Academy: Season One, Episode One Content Warnings
Putting these under a cut for anyone who wants to go in as blind as possible, but his episode has warnings for drug use, violence, and child abuse. There’s also flashing lights in adult Allison’s first scenes, and in a fight scene towards the end of the episode.
Drug use: We don’t see Klaus OD per say, but he is revived in an ambulance after taking mystery pills. He’s also seen later taking other mystery pills.
Violence: There’s plenty of blood in the fights. Two gorey shots towards the end: one semi-obscured eye attack, and then after one character digs something out of their arm with a knife.
Child abuse: I’ve found new reasons to hate Hargreeves because it turns out (biggest spoiler for the episode), they were tattooed as children with the Umbrella Academy logo (end biggest spoiler). We also see some of how he treated Vanya.
Other: The episode opens with a fairly intense childbirth scene. The episode deals in parental loss and how people react to it.
Umbrella Academy: Season One, Episode Ten Content Warnings
Putting these under a cut for those who want to go in as blind as possible, but this episode has content warnings for adoptive sibling incest and some other things.
Adoptive sibling incest: We sorta see a Luther/Allison kiss from when they were kids. Allison also gets Super Weird about the fact that Luther had sex with someone. Later they have an emotionally intimate (though not super explicitly romantic) scene in a phone booth).
Abuse: Vanya has a montage of all the shit that happened to her as a kid that messed her up.
Violence: Death by impalement; some gore during a later fight scene.
Other: More romantic moments (specifically two kisses) with the age difference couple.
Umbrella Academy: Season One, Episode Eight Content Warnings
Putting these under a cut for those who want to go in as blind as possible, but this episode has content warnings for child abuse, blood, and other things.
Child abuse: Hargreeves continues to be The Devil and we see more of how he treated Vanya (including forcing another Academy member to do something that hurts her in the long run).
Violence: Lots of blood towards the end of the episode.
Consent issues: It’s a brief thing, but some background dialogue and a flashback makes the extent to which Allison used her powers to make her wishes real, including making someone love her (though it’s not clear who).
Other: There’s more romantic stuff with the age difference couple.
Umbrella Academy: Season One, Episode Seven Content Warnings
Putting these under a cut for those who want to go in as blind as possible, but this episode has content warnings for child abuse (HEAVY CW for this episode) and other things. There’s also several club scenes with bright/flashing lights, and the scenes are set up to be loud and disorienting.
Child abuse: There are some graphic depictions of child physical abuse early in the episode. Also, Hargreeves spills a lot of nonsense about his motivations, which can be difficult to listen to, especially when he truth-drops how far he went to manipulate them. This one is a bigass spoiler, so if you have concerns about it, you can message me off anon and I’ll give you the context? But it’s a bigass spoiler.
Violence: Close up shot of a shrapnel wound.
Drug use: One character gets drunk, and then high. For once it’s not Klaus.
Other: There is one character whose relationship with an older woman becomes specifically romantic here, but that’s a YMMV thing as to how you feel about age gaps. There’s also a variation of the cowboy god scene from Dallas, but with a little girl on a bike this time and less racism/calling Klaus a fairy; again, make of that what you will.
Umbrella Academy: Season One, Episode Six Content Warnings
Putting these under a cut for those who want to go in as blind as possible, but this episode has content warnings for adoptive sibling incest and some assorted content. There’s also some flashing lights in a combat scene in the second half of the episode.
Adoptive sibling incest: There’s some more Allison/Luther content--a flashback that’s not overtly romantic but still, a cheek kiss, and then a dance scene and full-on kiss.
Other: One character is seen using the bathroom; angles and clothes prevent any nudity but still it’s kinda uncomfy. Klaus spends most of this episode detoxing through questionable methods.
Umbrella Academy: Season One, Episode Five Content Warnings
Putting these under a cut for those who want to go in as blind as possible. The biggest content warning is that there’s rapid blink/flashing lights during a bath scene with Klaus.
Lemon content: There is the start of a sex scene but it cuts away before things get too explicit. Just figured I’d let you know for if you’re watching with your parents or something.
Other: One character has a PTSD meltdown, and the affects of it are seen throughout the episode.
